Gallants vs Cavaliers, noob question

So I'm slowly building the army and don't have a single AoS game (although I'm quite experienced in wargames in general)

My initial plan was to run a reinforced gallants unit. Now I've looked into it and just don't see their merit over cavaliers.

Initially I thought gallants protec while cavaliers attac, but with the ability of the latter it doesn't seem accurate. Now it seems for 20 points cavaliers get +1 health and x2 move and no restriction on charge, which seems like disproportionately a lot

Am I missing something or do gallants really struggle to hold this comparison?

DK prototype

It’s a WiP, I just enjoy him very much and wanted to share

I paint him in little steps to relax

The news about pre-painted terrain reminded me of these I’ve done some time ago

And with all honesty pre-painted is a great option

I enjoy how they turned out, but it was one hell of a slog. These are extremely detailed and though you can just paint it fast it would feel like a wasted potential

And sometimes you just wanna play

Decided on the scheme

The unexpected part is the goggles with a hint of eyes behind

Still a couple details left, but the general concept is set

P.S. I'm not sure if photos are better than videos, so let me know if you have a preference

Testing the classic scheme

Usually I’m into stronger contrast and brighter colours, but restrained myself to keep it closer to OG pallete

It’s TinyLegends model and EpicBasing stuff on the base

There are minor details left, was testing the scheme

It’s not outright obvious but possible

P.S. Don’t pay attention to sizes or quantities — it’s not all of them
