App issues?

Is anyone having issues using the app? I'm seeing the "something went wrong, try again" error on pretty much every page. Can't login, searching for my booking throws the same error (but it shows up on the website - thank god), and the app is pretty much unusable.

Tried clearing cache, then clearing data, then uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to fix the problem. On Android using Samsung S23 Ultra if that makes any difference.

Too many active credit cards - what can I do besides closing accounts?

Yes I know yet another thread about this. But hear me out first. Tried VX pre-approval and came back with "too many active credit cards based on your income and loan history" as the sole reason.

Thing is I'm not a churner, and my last card (Amex Gold) was opened nearly 4 years ago! Over the years I have accumulated 7 personal cards, and the only card I ever closed was an Amex Plat back in 2019 because my lifestyle at the time no longer justified the AF.

Some stats:

  • 0/46 (lol)
  • Oldest account: 13 yr 10 mo
  • AAoA: 8 yr 7 mo
  • 7 open revolving accounts (+1 closed 12/2019)
    • includes a Discover It card (also happens to be my lowest limit...)
    • Total CL: $86.9k
  • 1 fully paid off share-secured loan (this was purely to boost my score and pad my report)
  • >150k income
  • 800+ FICO all three bureaus

Even though I have 7 cards I actually make decent use of 6 of them. There is one card I could potentially close if that would help with approval but that's about it.

The Venture specific pre-approval page shows I'm only approved for the Venture One and Venture for good credit, so can't even get the Venture non-X. 😂😭 Should I just throw in the towel at some point?

Convoy T8 w/ SFT-40 - rings of Jupiter in beam?

Recently bought a Convoy T8 with SFT-40 @ 5000k and some K10s and took it for a spin tonight. Was horrified to see what appears to be an aberrant ring in the beam. (It's the pencil thin ring in the first two shots) Well technically rings since it's actually made up of multiple thin rings if you look closely in person.

Emitter looks well centered, and no abnormal gaps seen between bezel and glass. I actually think the bezel is the culprit, because taking it off completely eliminates the rings entirely. The other smoking gun is if I put the default blue aluminum bezel back on, the ring then takes on a blue color!!!

I'm slightly devastated because this would've been such a nice pocket thrower. 😭 Is this just a case of the emitter not playing nice with the size of the reflector/bezel or something else? 1lumen reviewed a sample with SFT-25R and I couldn't see any anomalies and they said nothing either.

So what exactly has the US achieved in the Iranian War?

Aside from historic gas prices globally and lifting sanctions on Russian oil further enabling Putin of course.
