Found this picture of my great grandfather and wanted to share his outfit. I am in love with it and will be trying to recreate it. I have the jacket he wore and some similar pants, though the hard part will be the tie, hat, and dress shirt.
Little backstory; I'm a brand new drummer I inherited my grandfathers drum kit and haven't even started really learning yet (need new drumheads).
I was looking at a bunch of old pictures we had of my grandfather playing said set at gigs n such, and I noticed in pretty much every picture spanning from the 60s to the late 90s he always had the drum stick in his left hand backwards, hitting the drum with just the stick not the tip. Is there a reason for this? Sadly he is no longer here for me to ask so hopefully someone will know.
I recently found this really cool either 1950s or 70s shirt at my local goodwill. I was pulling it out of my closet and a loose thread on it I didn't see got caught and had this happen. Its like right under to the side of the breast pocket so even with my pants high waisted how I usually wear them it is noticeable. Is there any way to make it stand out less at all? I mean I will still wear the shirt it just bothers me a WHOLE lot!
This was my great grandmothers engagement ring. I’m not sure on exact details but I know she had 3 to 4 rings from previous engagements and or proposals and when she married her last husband who she was with till she passed she had all the wedding bands melted down and used the stones to have this ring custom made. At least that’s what I’ve been told. Cool story, I’m not sure what it’s made of. I’m told platinum. There is an inscription on the inside but it’s so small I can’t read it.
I have this ring of my great grandfathers but I’m not sure what it actually is. It has what I believe to be a deer on the front and a clock roughly at 11. Anyone have general information? It appears to say JK and Gran on the inside.
