എരിമയൂരും കാവശ്ശേരിയും ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പഞ്ചായത്തുകളാണെന്നാണ് എന്റെ അഭിപ്രായം! കാരണം, സ്വന്തം ജനങ്ങളെ എങ്ങനെ സംരക്ഷിക്കണം എന്ന് അവിടുത്തെ ഭരണാധികാരികൾക്ക് വ്യക്തമായി അറിയാം. പക്ഷേ, അവർ കാണിക്കുന്ന ആ 'കൗശലം' കണ്ടോ? "മറ്റുള്ള പഞ്ചായത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങൾ ദുരന്തത്തിലായാലും കുഴപ്പമില്ല, ഞങ്ങളുടെ പഞ്ചായത്തുകാർ സുരക്ഷിതരായിരിക്കണം" എന്ന നിലപാടോടെയാണ് അവർ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. സ്വന്തം വാർഡുകളിലെ ആളുകൾക്ക് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് ഉണ്ടാകരുത് എന്ന് കരുതി, കൃത്യമായി അതിർത്തി പ്രദേശങ്ങളിൽ ക്വാറികൾക്ക് അനുമതി നൽകി അവർ തടിയൂരുന്നു.
2026-ൽ മാത്രം കാവശ്ശേരി പഞ്ചായത്ത് 2 പുതിയ ക്വാറികൾക്കാണ് ലൈസൻസ് നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ കൗശലം കാരണം ഇന്ന് ഇല്ലാതായിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത് 'നിറങ്ങാൻപാറ' എന്ന നമ്മുടെ സ്വന്തം പ്രദേശമാണ്! വെറും പതിനഞ്ചായിരവും ഇരുപതിനായിരവും രൂപയുടെ ലൈസൻസ് ഫീസിന് വേണ്ടി ഈ പഞ്ചായത്തുകൾ നടത്തുന്ന ഈ വിവേചനം കാരണം ദുരിതം അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത് മുഴുവൻ ആലത്തൂർ-വെങ്ങന്നൂർ റൂട്ടിലെ സാധാരണക്കാരായ ജനങ്ങളാണ്.
നിയമങ്ങൾ കാറ്റിൽ പറത്തി, റോഡുകൾ തകർത്ത്, മിനിറ്റിന് മിനിറ്റിന് പാഞ്ഞുപോകുന്ന ഈ ക്വാറി മാഫിയകൾക്ക് കൂട്ടുനിൽക്കുന്നത് ആരാണ്? സ്വന്തം ജനങ്ങളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ അയൽ പഞ്ചായത്തിനെ തകർക്കുന്ന ഈ നിലപാടിനെതിരെ നമ്മൾ ഒറ്റക്കെട്ടായി ശബ്ദമുയർത്തിയേ മതിയാകൂ.
