What are you recording and what mods have helped?

So I'm just curious what other people are recording with their bass vi. For me I'm working on a postmetal album and it's being used as a secondary rhythm guitar to thicken up chugs and chords.

I'm interested to see how others are using theirs and also what mods they're using. I'm tempted to mod mine to allow for a humbucker in the bridge position as I feel that may be a bit better for me

Quad cortex not playing.

Hi, new here. I recently purchased a second hand quad cortex for recording and I have come across an issue. I cannot get cortex control or my computer in generally to recognise that the quad cortex is connected meaning I can't use cortex control.

I have tried different leads, plugging straight into the laptop, using a dongle, plugging into another computer, and just nothing seems to work.

This is really frustrating because I bought this solely for use on the computer pretty much and it's not functioning properly for my use case.

Does anybody have experience or fixes for an issue like this? I'm at an absolute loss. I would buy a new unit but I'm worried this is a common issue and don't want to throw more money away

Recording

Hi, new here. So I've been just casually practicing screams, growls shouts etc for a good 7 years now. I have alot of moments where I have consistency and then long periods where I just can't get into that pocket at all.

The problem is I'm currently working on a project with friends where I'm needing to deliver vocals and I just seem to struggle every time we push record. It's becoming incredibly more irritating each time.

Im not sure if having headphones on or other people in the room is off putting but it's like all the distortion is cutting in and out before I just completely lose it.

I don't know if anybody has any advise or own experience that may help me?

NGD - JMJM customisation opinions

TLDR; I bought a JMJM even though I don't like the look of it and it doesn't match my collection. Which mock-up do you like most?

Last night I went to a guitar shop with the intention of simply trying out a CV jaguar. I noticed the JMJM in there and figured I need to give it a go based on the hype. Long story short I walked out with a shiny new J Mascis jazzmaster.

I'm a tad annoyed at myself because I've tried so hard to stick to having 4 guitars, I've had a theme of black body, maple neck and offwhite pearloid pickguard and planned on trying my best to keep it that way.

I had never really looked at the JMJM because I hated the gold pickguard and didn't want to stray away from black but this guitar felt so nice I couldn't keep away. I'm relatively new to playing and basically only write my own music and record stuff.

So, my question is this, I've had AI show me a few pickguard combinations and have narrowed it down to these ones. Which is your favourite? (I'm very curious about whether metal pickup covers will affect the sound too)

New to me (Modification questions)

Just got my 335d X drive last week and I am loving it so far, I've always loved the f31 and recently chopped in my 8y s3 for this.

The car came lowered already and with some nice interior carbon fibre look features. I have since added gloss black m style mirror caps, some draft excluders, and white v bar cover.

I have also brought a nice alcantara wheel, carplay box and black and white badges which are yet to be put on.

One question I have is about the lowering of the car, if I default back to factory springs will the car be noticeably higher and if so what is a good happy medium that will let me get over bumps a bit easier. I love the look but also think a bit of extra practicality would be nice.
