Hi so I am headed to KCL but am just wary of london obviously being a pricey area. I will study at Guy's campus and was wondering how important it is to live near it, as I'd be having to take the tube.
I feel the biggest variable to living expenses is food, is there any advice on this matter? Does the uni provide services? I know my last one had a pantri which students could collect from for free
Hi, I just wanted advice on postgraduate lab experience,
My year in industry was situated as a quality engineer in several departments where I did things such as coding, however I did not interface with lab work.
I do have a year conducting a research - dissertation where I worked at my unis lab and had a short term internship working as a Bioengineer with NGS.
However, I worry that during my 1st and 2nd years I did not get roles in labs that may better qualify me for future roles - not to go into too much detail but I had to support my mother during these periods.
I am now entering a masters where I will interface with computational and wet lab techniques extensively.

So in general how difficult would getting R&D positions be? As a classmate of mine secured a role in a startup, and that is the general plan for me as well.
I have applied for a short term intern role at an oncology lab, however will have to see how that application goes.

One offer is in Biotechnology + Computational approaches, so Molecular modelling, AI, VS-docking, Big data handling + wet lab skills in various areas of course
The other is vague but just covers essentially everything in the drug discovery and development pipeline
Just looking to see which one would benefit me the most - and yes I get the market is bad as it is in almost any industry
I would also like to ask if the institution's reputation matters at all

In a show full of characters you are not necessarily meant to like, I am sorry I may very well dislike shiv the most, and its all because her core character is that she is not married to any real beliefs, people, she flip flops all over the place and thinks she is going to come out on top or smth.
I do wish the show provided us more insight into if she ACTUALLY was good at her job in politics, as it felt much of her attraction to her politicians were who she is beyond her actual input.
I don't know maybe I just really like tom and I get he is using her, but at least I understand what drives him.
Maybe I simply just do not understand her character yet, but geez shiv will smirk at you act like x y and z then rip you apart the next moment, like with her divorce from gil and nate, like there was not even ANY reason for her to personally attack Gil like that, then with her comments about washing his hands after touching a working class man???

So apparently devs have been saying the lip sync and facial animations are stuff they can get done towards the end, and regardless in RPGs I dont expect those to be top quality all the time
BUT, is it just me or were the town gaurd AI acting really weird? Just looked a bit off with how they just stood at the perimeter and were basically target dummies for the player character.
I will say, I am not sure what difficulty the game may potentially be at, and if that affects enemy aggression, but for anyone who used to vandalize towns in fable, gaurds are menacing challenges, and these really looked incredibly weak to me.
Hi I am a uni student who just graduated, but I am currently a bit unsure if I should attend my graduation due to concerns around safety?
Are protests in certain areas of the city, if so around what times?
Also besides the incidence is violence widespread rn? I mean my brother graduated from Birmingham and that obviously is the city of shanking, so its not as if violence is foreign. Its just that my sister is law is a POC so I am unsure how she would be treated or whatnot.

The guy is incredibly boring, where its literally "I am attracted to you lets fuck", what is the actual interest. Sure tom is kind of square but fuck his sweet talk may be even better still lol.
He also sounds like Joe Swanson from family guy so double points, plus he's total husband material
Possibly bc S2 makes Tench a character you really empathize with, but when you first watch mindhunter you are discovering this new method of thinking with holden, so you celebrate and root for his discoveries and facination.
But he seriously is a weird guy and obviously an interjection of the showrunners kinda holding a mirror to people who glorify true crime too much, with tench being a loadstone of sanity by his side, recognizing the horrors that were commited.
Hi so I applied for a Masters research course in a scientific degree and got told I will have an interview in 5 days, where I need to basically discuss the potential research I am interested in doing for 30 minutes.
Kind of caught off gaurd here as I JUST have finished exams so have not had a lot of time to collect myself.
What are the general points I should be hitting
Is it alright if I inherently will have scientific gaps in my knowledge as different scientific backgrounds would be applying for the same degree
