Anyone else get hair spiders?

My hair is a little feral. Wavy/curly, thick, and opinionated. I often find sticks or vegetative debris in it (especially if I've been gardening). Today, a teeny tiny little itty bitty spider dropped a line out of my bangs. I was only outside for 5 minutes this morning! My husband goes, "You really are a witch, huh?" Like, the spider was waiting for perfect comedic timing before making her exit. I wish this were the first time this has happened.

Anyone else going au naturale with their hair care this summer?

My take on Algae nails

I'm calling it "The Mailstorm We Have At Home". I layered Mooncat Hard-core Buttercup over MC House of Hades and came out with temu Maelstrom. The green gets a little pukey in certain light and I love it.

Cat Eating Birds

YOU GUYS. Some kind of GIANT RABID BIRD just tried to carry off my sweet angel babykins wittle kitty cat. What pollinators can I attract to fight off the birds???

uj/a juvenile (?) red tail hawk (aka Dumbass) tried to divebomb my cat yesterday. My indoor-only, former-feral, currently SHOCKED cat. Dumbass tried to get through the window glass in the kitchen window, had a hissy fit, then flew off. Brought back two friends today. Windows are remaining closed, thank you!

Feeling Witchy - Clove-Stabbed Lemons

I'm feeling so empowered and witchy today! I recently lost my job and I'm taking some time to recover from burnout before starting the next Big Adventure. In the meantime, I actually started putting things together to sell spells and bits as a proper Millenial Side Hustle. It's really fun to think about spell components, how to target needs, packaging, and the vending potentials. I'm currently dehydrating lemon slices stabbed with cloves for a Hex Your Boss spell I'm developing. My house smells so good and I'm so excited to share my magic with the world!

I've really struggled to keep in touch with my practice through the vagaries of the last year+, so having ample time to play and experiment has me feeling like a kid screwing around making potions at the creek again. Amazing how much of a pick-me-up a little spiteful spell work can be lol

Here's the instructions for clove-stabbed lemons, great for banishments, hexing, and vinegar spray cleanser.

Get a lemon. Hold the lemon gently in your hands (don't squish - you need to maintain internal structural integrity). Take a handful of cloves and stab the sharp bit into the lemon peel while muttering (out loud) how unfairly you've been treated/how shitty your boss is/RTO sucks/etc. More is better. Make pretty spirals or patterns or just randomly spike them in there. Stab them cloves in until your thumbs are sore or your spleen has been vented, whichever comes first. Now take a sharp chef's knife and carefully cut slices of lemon, about a third of the thickness of my thumbnail (YMMV). You want thin slices so that they dry fully. While slicing, concentrate on your breath - you're taking all that energy you built up muttering and breathing it into the lemon. Tell it what you want to happen, using your pettiest curse or hex. My favorite lately, "May all their cilantro taste like soap". Be creative and let the spite flow. Place clove-lemon slices in a single layer on your dehydrator and run it at 135*F for about 8 hours. If your slices are thicker, you'll need longer.

Eventually you'll have lovely little bits of withered spite to add to spells as appropriate. Simmer pots, offering bowls, shower steamer bags, crushing and sprinkling around the tires of your ex-manager's ugly-ass truck.... the options are limited only by the penal code and your imagination!

Hello laundry fans and aficionados.... I've been reading the sub and I'm taking the plunge, making the move from pods to powdered detergent. I've acquired the Tide free and clear, citric acid and oxiclean. I'm figuring out the new routine and I'm excited for great results but... the powders are messy. That's why I switched to pods in the first place. How do you store and dispense yours so that you don't end up with a sprinkle of powder everywhere?

Here's a view of my space, if that helps. My laundry nook is in my bathroom, shared with cats. Advice welcome!
