Maytag Dryer Airflow, wrinkly clothes
Greetings from the Midwest! Maytag Electric Dryer MEDB835DC4
We recently got a new washer and when installing it we had to pull the dryer out to get everything moved around. With it out of the laundry room and accessible, we took the opportunity to deep clean the attached dryer discharge vent out from the rear using a shop vac. Ever since then we get an AF code on the dryer and clothes seem to be way more wrinkled even though nothing has changed.
I am 100% sure the flex pipe going to the wall is not too long or have too many bends. I have even tried running the dryer not hooked to the wall vent and still get this error. I have considered buying one of those $20 lint traps you fill with water for long term testing. I’m 90% sure the vent going up to the roof is fine.
I think I need to tear the dryer apart and deep clean it even more. We do a lot of laundry and the unit is about 6 or 7 years old. We are diligent about cleaning out the front lint screen.
It just seems strange this issue started after we replace the washer and vacuumed the back of the dryer. There isn’t any way I could have damaged something in the dryer vacuuming the back of it out is there.
Also, these is lint behind this grate/screen but there doesn’t appear to be a way to get it off? It gets VERY hot and it’s a bit concerning.
