Is this homebrew too strong?

Greetings again!

So, for the bloody gates tier 1 adventure I had a thought to make one of my more 40k experienced players be a disgraced vostroya sergeant that got shipped off to the penal legion in gilead. I originally gave him the commissar with advanced character creation but then I saw this.

This is a homebrew archetype called Imperial Guard Officer. Its from a fan made book called Abundance of Apocrypha. I love the idea of the archetype ability and feel like that would give him a very officer feel but since im new im not sure if this is too strong.

So, would this homebrew be balanced or is this just way too strong in its design? If its too strong i thought about limiting it to leadership score per rest of something to limit how often he can use it.

Thanks l!

Adding on to a Inquisitor & Darktide Extractions

Greetings all!

I plan to do a mini campaign for my group to get used to the system before dive into a deep long term campaign.

For this mini campaign im going to do the first adventure of Bloody Gates and transition into the Darktide Extraction adventure. I am going to change the planet to Charybdion and use a custom inquisitor instead of Grendel also.

Now, let's say they end up waiting to continue these characters do yall have any recommendations for good inquistorial adventures be it in Wrath & Glory OR other from other systems like Dark Heresy i could convert to Wrath & Glory? I thought about maybe the Chemical Burn adventure from Imperium Maledictum since its a hive based story but im open to suggestions!

Thanks!

EDIT: Just to clarify i mean are there any adventures from other 40k systems i could convert to Wrath & Glory that have good darktide/inquisition vibes!

Cover & Shooting Through Cover

Greetings friends!

So, im a little confused on cover rules in Wrath & Glory. I know that nearly half cover gives +1 to DEFENSE and half and above give +2 to DEFENSE. But what about if someone is FULLY behind a object like a full wall? Is that considered +2 to DEFENSE or can you just not hit them?

Then when it comes to the ranged attack option called SHOOT THROUGH COVER it says that certain weapons can just go through cover however they make no indication of what guns can do this? But in this case if you can see the creature you'd ignore the DEFENSE bonus and add the cover based off the material to the creatures RESILIENCE instead. In addition to my earlier question, what decides when you can SHOOT THROUGH COVER vs normal shooting at cover? Dont worry about the response being long or detailed i want to fully understand so I can better GM for my group!

Thank you!

W&G Help on Party comp & Enoch ideas

Greetings everyone!

TLDR: Will a Mechanicus character run into issues with a party of primarily heroic empathetic characters who are of the Ecclesiarchy or will it be fine?

I am going to be running a Wrath & Glory Campaign starting at tier 1. I plan to start on Enoch with a modified more fleshed out version of Rain of Mercy and then go from there. The party is a Sister Hospitaller, a Ministorum Priest, local enforcer/gun for hire and a Tech Adept. I plan for this to be heroic same the gilead system game.

Since I plan for the group to want to personally help the refugees by it being the right thing to do i am having a hard time figuring out why a mechanicus would join them to have some useless refugees. They typically view people like that as a waste of time and in a more cold and cruel way. They also tend to butt heads with the Ecclesiarchy as well. It makes me feel like the mechanicus may run into some issues with the rest of the group in game (The player isnt a problem player).

Am I overthinking this or should we possible change his character to be something more empathetic? Also anyone have any quests, adventures or other things I can steal to help flesh out Enoch?

Thank you!

Wrath and Glory Tier 1 Adventures

Greetings friends!

I am going to run my group through the Starter set Traitor's Hymn for W&G but since I want this to last longer and give then more time to flesh out the characters im thinking of doing something at tier 1 first.

If they like the tier characters at the end they can ascend and bring them into the starter set. Ive looked over some of the adventures for W&G but I cant seem to find anything Tier based.

Is there any adventure be it official or homebrew that is good and fun for a bunch of tier 1 newbies learning about 40k?

Thank you!

What races for this AP?

Greetings all!

Im looking to run this AP and I know its a Orc based and themed story but I was wondering what other races would be a good fit out of the ones im thinking of allowing.

Im a DM who usually doesn't run games where the monstrous races fit so I was thinking of limiting the options to Orc/Dromaar, Goblin, Hobgoblins like the guide says but also add Bugbears as there is one coming in the next month or 2, Minotaur, Centaur. This would let my players be the weirder races for once. Does this seem like a good spread of monstrous races for the AP

I know the guide talks about having the PCs be from outside the Holds but im going to have each of them be from a clan either already in Belkzen or make a custom one so i dont want to allow things like human, elf, dwarf, etc.

Thanks!

Triumph of Tusk into Spore War

Greetings everyone!

Curious to know if anyone has ever done this combination and if so how has it gone? Oh and how is Triumph of Tusks and Spore War? Are they fun and good APs worth doing?

Thanks!

Horde based TTRPG villain/story

Lok'tar friends!

I know this isnt the normal kind of stuff you're asked but I figured the lore buffs would be a big help. If im not allowed to post this I apologize.

I plan to run a Horde based campaign for my TTRPG group coming up and my knowledge of wow extends to wow classic and thats all. Im looking for ideas or inspiration on a story or possible villain. I know i could make up my own but I wanted to see if anyone has ideas or existing villains/factions/organizations that i could use. My current idea is something to do with either the Burning Blade or the Burning Legion but im open to suggestions!!

Thank you all!

Best AP for new group

Greetings all!

I DM for a group who aren't new to TTRPGs but we are new to PF2E and are looking for a pre made to run. I usually do homebrew so this area of knowledge isnt my thing. We tried Alkenstar but it just didnt vibe well with us so now I plan to run the starter box then go from there with new characters.

Ive narrowed it down to the options listed in the poll. Please let me know when of these you think is best for newbies or just give your general feedback on them.

PS. Triumph of Tusks is also a thought but couldn't add it to the poll.

Kingmaker AP question

Greeting friends,

I was looking at a future AP to run my party through and one I liked the sound of was Kingmaker. Ive seen it's very popular and well spoken of and the idea of a classic forest area with classic monsters and just adventuring/creating a kingdom sounds fun.

I know the players are the rulers but could you tweak that? Could you have them be close friends of the new up and coming King or Queen and be their personal elite squad OR could you have the players appoint npcs to rule in their stead so while they are off adventuring the Kingdom is still running kinda like in Dragon Age Inquisition where the Inquisitor goes on adventures while their advisers rule? Curious to know!

PS if you have other good PF2E AP please let me know!
