Aquaman in DC vs Vampires

Just finish both runs of DC vs Vampires. Second part could’ve been done way differently and better but that’s neither here nor there. One of the character I felt the most grief stricken was Aquaman. After becoming a vampire, he became so ruthless, greedy and sadistic, his worst bits emphasised. Did anyone else feel like that? I couldn’t give a damn about the others but Arthur…he was so nice when I watched him in Brave and the Bold.

He did look really cool, I will say. The black and red and the hair was really nice.

Aquaman and Animal Man friendship?

Do Arthur and Buddy have a relationship? I know they’ve worked together before but has there ever been a time where they’ve shown a relationship or rapport?

I ask because I can see a lot of parallels with them. Elemental powers. A great respect and dedication to the world and is ecosystem. They both have daughters with similar capabilities to their own. They both lost a son.

It feels like the building block are there.

Does snake venom work on vampires?

This is more to do with biology then mysticism, but since most snake venoms work through coagulopathy (the clotting and binding of blood), would this work on a vampire? I don’t actually know where the blood goes when a vampire drinks it. Does it sit in their stomach and they have to throw it up later after “digesting it”? Or are they like mosquitoes, passing the blood into their own?

How do vampires stop getting bored?

Rather new to all this so I’ll just ask, but do vampires ever get bored. And I’m talking about the standard Dracula Prince of darkness kind here. In those fiction, do they ever get bored?

If in the situation of Dracula, you seclude yourself from everyone except form the occasional bride to have or victim to drain. So what else is there for you to do? Are they so without character or soul that they’ve become trapped in predator behaviour? Is that why they drink blood? Not to gain strength but for a least a little while, feel the shifts of change and potential again. What is in them that makes them keep going without the hope that tomorrow will be new. Never have I seen them start a business or make fine art or travel the world.

By the sounds of it, like elves, vampires are offered time forever, and have nothing to do in it.

The Doctor is forced to notice their alienness

Has there ever been a point where a companion, or someone close to the Doctor, where they have openly confronted them about who they are or what they’ve done, resulting in the Doctor suddenly noticing he truly is an alien to humans.

If anyone has scene Steven Universe, there is similar scene where Rose (an alien) is confronted by Greg (a human) when he tries to get her to understand his needs. Initially, Rose is very blasé of Greg, treating him nicely, but dismissively or patronising, not really recognising his attempts to understand her or show affection. Only when Greg confronts Rose about this, does she realise what she does, with Greg finally saying “Oh, my God. This is so weird. You really are an alien.” Rose is hurt by this but comes to realise that she isn’t human and she has been rather blind to this and needs to reevaluate her behaviour and relationships with humans.

Has something like this happened to the Doctor? They are forced to realise that in some people’s eyes, they aren’t a legend, a threat, a god, nor a saviour. They are an alien. A thing that breathes their air and walks their world and moves in their lives. But not as an individual in it. As an otherness in someone else’s normal. And that makes them feel smaller.

How good is the silence anti-memetic abilities?

So I’ve been reading “There is no Antimemetics division”, which is a good book and I think DW could learn some stuff from the SCP foundation, and I’ve been thinking. In the book, there are creatures who cannot only make you forget they exist, but can also make the universe forget you exist or even enter your mind if you even think about them.

So this got me thinking, how far does the silence abilities range? Do they only affect memories or can they also impact all kinds of data, including filling in gaps left when people can’t remember them? Marion form the book, for example, counters a lot of antimemetic effect by recognising the gaps in her memory and working backwards.

Foggy Swamp inspo

I feel like we missed out on some cool development with the Foggy Swamp tribe. It, along with plantbending, was barely touched in both series.

Given the tribes location and lifestyle, I would think unlike the water tribes of the poles, the Foggy Swamp tribe would take inspiration from Philippine architecture and culture, mostly due to the country’s island and jungle nature.

Horror in avatar media

question for the people: if the did stories that were horror focused in Avatar, would you engage with it? and I don’t mean just mysterious or thrilling. I mean actual creepy, blood-chilling, stuff. Given how eldritch the spirits can be, or how dark bending can be used, I’d say there a lot of stuff that could be done in that genre.
