Allegedly happened in PRT bus.

Never expected this to happen in Pittsburgh. As a non white person, I felt in last couple of years the stare downs have increased. I kept telling myself it's just persecution complex.

What's the point of auto tip for larger parties?

We went to this restaurant for dinner (4 adults and 1 five year old) and we were charged automatically 20% tip. Now 5 people are considered a large party? I miss the overall point here. When we go in larger numbers aren't we naturally spending more? It's not like they did anything extra that what they wouldn't do for 2 people. Shouldn't increase in number of people get cancelled out by higher amount and higher profit? Only saving grace was the guy mentioned about the auto tip. I have previously once ended up paying the 'additional tip'.

Feeling jealous of hyperphantasiac book readers.

Am sitting on a plane surrounded by people so engrossed in reading books, the books with just plain text.. No way they are all not hyperphants. So jealous and bored.

Edit1: Am not sure what % are hyperphants and what % are hypophant but still visualize considerably. My two close friends literally watch movies in their head and have immersive feeling when they read which makes me feel jealous. I would be thrilled if I could have lush visuals when reading Lord of the rings for example. I understand if you are an avid reader and enjoy it while being an aphant, but what if it's several folds better if you could visualize? You have never experienced it!

How much your ability to visualize is involved in your daily life?

I am an aphantasiac. I cannot visualize anything in my mind, but I do have a very active inner monologue.

If you are a hyperphantasiac, how much is your ability to visualize involved in your daily life? Do you use mental imagery while talking to people, showering, reading Reddit posts, planning your day, engaging in a heated argument, driving, listening to music, or doing other everyday activities?

If you suddenly lost the ability to visualize, which aspects of your daily life would be most severely affected? Thanks! Being obsessed about this topic, I am curious to know.

Public toilet floors

I (M) see that within stalls men have their pants almost resting on the toilet floor. I don't understand 1. why pant needs to be all the way down. 2. How people don't realize how yucky the public toilet floors are. I see people comfortably keeping their backpacks inside the stall on the floor!!!

Last wish (short story)

Everyone called him a lucky man, and he believed them.

He believed it when his wife's laugh filled the kitchen like light. When his four-year-old pressed both palms to his cheeks and said "Daddy your face is warm." When his mother still insisted on serving him first at Sunday dinners.

He was thirty-six. His heart stopped on a Wednesday. One moment he was reaching for his keys. The next, the floor. The ER was loud, then very quiet. Time of death, 4:42 PM.

His wife didn't scream. She just crumpled, silently, like something had been removed from inside her. His kid stood beside her, still and confused, his little sneakers lighting up with every small shift of his feet.

They buried him the same evening. Prayers. Flowers in the wind. His wife's hand over her mouth. His mother's face tilted down. His father's jaw locked, refusing to break.

They said goodbye. Went home to a house that felt like a held breath.

He woke in absolute darkness. Wood on every side. He pushed, turned, searched desperately for any gap, any give. There was none. The air was already thinning. He could feel it.

He thought of his wife. Her laugh. The way she held his hand without thinking, as if they still had a lifetime left. He thought of his son, small and still young enough to think his father was invincible. He would forget my voice. God he is so little. Did I hold him enough. Did she know she was the best thing that ever happened to me. They were home right now. They didn't know he was here, alone, in the dark, thinking of nothing but them.

He would have given every remaining breath just to see their faces. Just once more. Just for a second. Just enough to carry with him.

He tried. He tried with everything he had left.

He had never once asked God for anything. Not in thirty-six years.

"I am not asking to live. I understand what this is. But please. Just one minute. One last wish.

Make me a hyperphantasiac.

Let me die looking at the people I love."

Song getting stuck in the head

Only today I actually properly realized when people all these years said they had song stuck in their head, they literally meant it. I never understood and always thought that it just didn't happen to me. Am I a total aphant? I can't visualize or hear sounds/music, or imagine smell or texture but have a busy internal monologue. Not sure if I hear the monologue as there's no volume or tone to it, I just feel it, like every word am typing right now.

Outlook on Galaxy phones failing

I keep removing the Android System Webview updates, but again after an hour or so my Outlook stops working. So is my Microsoft authenticator. I missed some very important emails because notifications have stopped. It can not be just me. Have they not fixed this issue yet? Even if I want to use outlook on browser I need authenticator every time which doesn't work either!!

Imagine you witness a crime happening and saw the criminal's face for few minutes. How well can you explain the artist about their features? You can try staring at one of these faces and then try to recall the information.
