Haven’t even started my career yet but i feel like it’s already fucked

my_qualifications: final year BA doing political science, history, english lit at a completely average college in a smaller city.
I’m ngl I’ve basically been living under a rock professionally while everyone else was busy grinding their resumes. I literally just made my linkedin today and my connection count is sitting at a solid 0.
I opened the app, scrolled for 5 minutes, and instantly closed it lol. It just feels like a giant flex zone for rich kids, tech grads, and people from top tier colleges talking about how "humbled" they are to get an internship.
On paper my background is super plain—no fancy brand logos, no big metro prestige, nothing. But in real life I’m actually really good with people. I’m confident, can talk my way into/out of pretty much anything, handle public speaking easily, and actually know how to write.
I really want to get into stuff like PR, policy research, corporate diplomacy, or geopolitical risk.
Be real with me—is linkedin actually useful for non-tech/humanities people if you start from scratch, or is it mostly just corporate noise? And how do you even pitch yourself on there when your biggest strength is just charisma and soft skills rather than a shiny college name?
I need some actual reality checks or advice on what my next move should be.

Non-tier-1 BA humanities student with 0 profile brand value—can strong interpersonal skills + networking carry me abroad, or is LinkedIn mandatory?

Hey everyone, keep it real with me.
I’m a final-year BA student (PoliSci, History, English Lit) at an average college outside a major metro. I’ve been living under a rock professionally and just created my LinkedIn today (0 connections, no fancy corporate logos on my resume).
My goal is to break into Geopolitical Risk / Public Policy / IR and eventually go abroad for my Master’s. What I do have is high confidence, great socializing/communication skills, and a strong work ethic.
For anyone who made it abroad from a similar non-elite background:
1 Does LinkedIn actually matter for humanities students aiming abroad, or is it just corporate noise?
2 How do I make a fresh profile look promising without fancy college or brand names?
3 Can pure networking, soft skills, and solid cold emails make up for a lack of early prestige?
Brutally honest advice and reality checks appreciated!
my_qualifications: currently a final year Bachelors student, triple majoring in political science, history and English Literature
