Did you let your LO stop eating as soon as they lost interest in eating?

My dad does not ever want to eat a single bite of food or drink even a sip of water. The only way we can get enough in him is to beg him to eat just one bite, let him go to the bathroom, and then he forgets he took the bite so we beg him again. Sometimes we accidentally get pushy enough he gets mad.

When you guys were faced with this, did you let your LO die?

I only have 2 hesitations in letting him die at this point. One is that when he was alive, he said he wanted to hold on for as long as possible. Even when he was alive he frankly had zero life as he had zero interests - but he still wanted to live. He says he wants to die now but his brain is no good anymore.

The second reason I hesitate in letting him die is because it may tear my family apart. One of us would think letting my dad die is absolute evil. She actually was the odd one out with my mom's terminal illness decisions too and she didnt talk to us for 2 years cause we fought so much with my mom. Itd only now is trying to bring us back together again so having this happen again may tear us apart permanently.

What do you guys think?

Envoy at home - has anyone used this and how well does it work?

Has anyone used envoy at home? How well does it work, particularly for fall detection. The fall devices we've been using do not seem to detect slow falls well so are specifically looking for one that will.

Memory care and frequency of checking patients

We are considering whether we should put my dad in memory care and have a question.

How frequently do they check on residents? Is it within every 2 hours or longer than that? I'm wondering if my dad fell down or peed their bed or something - how soon would that be caught?

My dads been staying at his own home. We have 2 fall detection devices watching him. He fell down but neither detection devices went off. Probably cause he had support and more likely slid down slowly as opposed to a hard fall. We caught it cause we monitor the cameras every so often to make sure he's ok.

One of my siblings desperately does not want to put him in a home because she is convinced they will not check in on him any faster than we do and will let him just lie there for a long time. Add to this we've just had people we know die from cdif which seems all too common and extremely contagious. and covid. And now we see hantaivirus on the news.

So how often do memory care check on residents at night? it would be a medicaid paid home.

We are in Oregon.

This rude, passive aggressive lady I encountered in the elevator made some backhanded insults at me for walking my cat on a leash. She had asked about fleas from walking outside which I had at first thought was just a friendly question before she showed her true self.

I had told her fleas aren't a problem, I give him revolution plus. Oh that's extremely toxic for your cat, but whatever so long as he's a good boy she said.

So she was really rude but it did make me wonder, for those of you who have given your pets revolution plus consistently, did your cat live a long and healthy life or die of something other than cancer?

edit: Wow. Thanks for all the responses everyone. Ive decided to stick with revolution plus. Seems like many cats live very long lives with it so seems safe enough to me. My cat has never had a bad reaction so I think it works for him.

Do these combo units work well?

What kind of pan is it that comes with these units for when air frying? I don't want the basket ones since the baskets look so hard to clean. I want to buy a couple extra pans.

Are the air fryer pans dishwasher safe?

Any recommended units for a 4 person family?

Thanks

I want to hire a caregiver for my dad. He needs someone to feed him,get him to take meds, and brush his teeth. I just need 4 hours a day for 3 days a week.

Is care.com a good place to hire from? I don't want to deal with taxes or any hiring hassles like that. Any better way to hire a caregiver?

It would be nice if they could shower him too. Would that require special licensing and cost me more? I'd live without if that's the case.

Thanks

It was her handmaids, particularly June that led the revolt. She herself stood up to the regime. So how is it she wasn't executed let alone revered?

If all the commanders who saw her revolt are dead, thry should at least know june and thr other handmaids were her responsibility and she failed in training her right.

I'm trying to fill greymothers fridge right now. Does cooking the venison make any difference at all in terms of thr amount of food the venison counts as?

Also, does the freezer preserve meat as well as the outside does?

▲ 6 r/Celiac

My doctor took a celiac test on me without even telling me he was going to do so. He's declares me as not having celiac disease because my tests came back negative.

My concern is that I rarely eat gluten. Can't this produce a false negative?

How long do I have to be eating gluten before I take the test to get more accurate resluts? Would a whole grain sandwich a day be enough for testing?
