Why are patterns discontinued?

Pure curiosity, zero shade.

What would make a designer discontinue a pattern? For example, the Golden Oak tank on Ravelry. The artist has beautiful patterns! I wish I had found and purchased the pattern when it was available.

I completely respect the artist’s decision, it’s her work.

I’m just asking for perspective of why patterns get discontinued in the internet.

Curious Beginner: LacyBotanics

Has anyone tried her beginners kit? If so, how did you feel it worked for you?

I’ve always been fascinated and now Instagram is trying to give me a new side quest.

I wholly respect this art and am fascinated by the accomplishments and history here. I just love knowing how things work and I’m looking to get a more basic understanding.

TIA!

Is this a hydrangea?

I bought this hydrangea from Pike. I believe it’s by Monrovia. But it’s not showing any flowering potential. The hydrangea I planted next to it is already blooming. I get the 2nd one is a big leaf hydrangea but what is the first (if it’s a hydrangea).

TIA!

Beginning Aluminum Casting: Equipment

I’m looking to cast some ant hills with my neighbor. We have ant mega-plexes at this point.

I’m stuck on the crucible. (Please forgive my ignorance, I haven’t casted anything since college). I see that I need a graphite crucible. Then I need to temper it.

The steps seem to be: Oven bake at 300°F for 1 hour then at 400°F for 2 hours. Next, run through a forge.

Since this is an adhd side quest, I don’t have a forge. I have a fire pit and a weed torch.

What is the best way to temper the crucible?
What tips do you have? I’m completely open to advice and clearly need it.

Are my peaches stunted?

Hi everyone!
This is the first year my peaches have gotten to this size! (I posted here that I finally trimmed by tree back and yes I mangled it so I’m going to be calling for help from the extension school this winter).

But here are where my peaches have been for weeks - the ones I have been able to keep from squirrels. I just put fresh compost down. Is this typical?

Allstate sucks. I’ve been told to switch insurance but it’s handled by the mortgage. I talked to another insurance company and they said to call the mortgage company. 800 number hell lead to more questions and confusion…

TIA

My dad gave me this hydrangea for my birthday about 2 weeks ago. He said it guzzled water. So I watered it in the pot it came in as I was having to dig up a spot for it. 3 days after I got it, I noticed it was in a pot within another pot. The outer pot didn’t have a hole for drainage…

On day 3, I took it out of the pots to try and let it dry out. I planted it by day 4 or 5. I’ve put compost in the hole plus some dried leaves for better drainage (my soil is clay). I haven’t put mulch over it because I want to continue to dry it out. I did deadhead the blooms that look beyond help.

Some of the wood has turned brown but there are still green shoots!

Am I screwed?
