Where do we put the TV in this living room?

Moving into this new apartment at the end of the month and I can't figure out for the life of me how we should layout the living room. I am obviously not putting the TV above the fireplace. The mirrors on either side of the fireplace are permanent and immovable.

If we put the TV on the wall opposite the fireplace then our backs are to the fireplace which seems less than ideal. I don't really want to put the tv in front of the peninsula in the kitchen .... help please!

We adopted a rescue girl 3 weeks ago, she's about 8 months old now (we believe). The rescue org thinks she's a whippet/mini doberman mix, she's flatlining at 30 lbs (hasn't gained any weight since we got her, i weigh her weekly).

She's always been timid - friendly, just wary of everyone in the beginning. She warms up pretty well to anyone if we are outside the home. Inside the home, different story. She's *very* attached to me (working on that) and seems to be protective of me when we are home because she's been especially slow to warm up to my husband. He is constantly giving her treats and being very patient, and it's getting better, but she still barks/growls at him when he comes into the room and will generally keep distance from him. She will take treats from him once she sees them, but tends to move away after. Sometimes she'll allow him to pet her.

I know it will get better over time, but does anyone have recommendations? Seems like she must have had a bad experience with men in the past (although she's fine with other men as long as we are outside the home). Also, any tips for attachment (she cries when I leave and she HATES the crate).

Thanks all in advance!
