New hotas user - question

Ok so this may sound like completely silly question; but I ordered a couple VKB gladiators for Elite/SC/DCS (I’ve been flying with m&k)

Every single setup I’ve seen has the Hotas/hosas mounted on the front lip of the desk and hanging down. Why is this?

I made my desk 35” deep so my lanky arms could rest on them to keep pressure off my shoulders and wrists. I was thinking of just putting the sticks on top of my desk…is this a ok thing or explain to me why people like to put them so low and have to back their chair up really far? Most games I’ll be using m&k for movement + hotas for flight for so I’d like them to be close together.

Anyways just never had a hotas and before I waste money on mounts- was wondering ergonomically if this made sense to simply place them on my desk other left and right of my KB+M?

Thanks!

Thoughts? I am thinking the Tiburon is a bit redundant.

Mostly duo'ing with my best friend. Mining and salvaging is something we haven't tried so we are adding in a Mole & Moth soon with in-game credits.

I love the Tib, but it's just so underwhelming. Trying not to base my decision off balance, but the Percy seems to get picked every time if were needing a gunship.

Paladin vs Asgard for a solo player

I think the Paladin looks absolutely stunning, and I’m leaning more toward that just for the vibe. but I know the Asgard has more scu and more general purpose. That’s about all I know. I haven’t flown these 2 ships before, I was wondering how they felt, what you would pick?

I’d mainly be using for bounty hunting missions. Solo through the week + occasionally 1 friend on the weekends. Thanks for your input!

Do you flush your Allison transmission?

Looking at a 2012 LML, the owner said he’s never flushed the trans before. I thought this was odd until I looked it up. Everyone seems to agree to avoid flushing like the plague. To “treat it like bacon grease and leave it in”

Not sure if this is true? Anyways the trucks got 130k miles on it, what should I do then to service the trans? What are the best practices?

Just spin on a new filter and top off if necessary? If so, how often.

Thanks!

2500hd - 6.0 gasser vs 6.6 dmax reliability?

Just wondering pros and cons. Especially long term usage, cost, repairs, peoples experience or advice.

I had my eye on a 2011-2014 era 6.0 vortec gas 2500hd that i found with about 100k miles on it, but then a similar truck came up, basically same truck and mileage but with the 6.6 Duramax.

I have some preconceived notions thinking a diesel is more expensive to own? (injectors, more complicated fuel system, more moving parts like turbo.) but i think im not educated enough on the subject to make a decision.

I do need a 3/4 ton, I tow a skidsteer a couple times a month. With all this being said, What would you get if my focus is on owning either truck for a long time?

What is this skill(s) from the 0.5 trailer?

It looks quite fun, I haven’t seen anything like it since I mostly play casters. Is this on warrior, huntress, something else? Thanks in advance :)

EDIT: My question is answered. Thank you all so much for the quick responses!
