I hate having more than 3 Publications

If I want only 3 Research Publications to mention in my CV, What should be H- index, Journal Recommendations, impact factor etc. I can only do Cross sectionals and Case Reports so I want to have 2 Croas sectionals along with 1 Case Report. Despite giving my precious time doing research alongside some unserious dudes that consume a lot of time and energy, I can use this time to increase my step 2 score and as far as the match is concerned, having inpatient USCE with the best LoR from PD or attendee is enough. I would like to hear from you

Remember Everyone has the same 24 hours each day| Advice from 2nd year MBBS Student

MDCAT is barely two weeks away and yes, it honestly feels like there’s too little time left. But here’s the reality: everyone has the same 24 hours right now. The load shedding, the family pressure, the uncertainty, the fear of “no delay” – whatever you’re suffering through, thousands of other aspirants are going through almost the same situation. You are not uniquely disadvantaged. If MDCAT isn’t delayed, it won’t be delayed for everyone, and the paper will be the same for everyone. So instead of wasting these crucial days on frustration, rumours. Use them to cover as much of your syllabus as you practically can. Even partial, focused preparation is better than mental burnout.

Focus on what you can control: revise chapters smartly, practice as many MCQs as possible, and keep your mind stable. MCQs practice will polish your concepts, expose your weak areas and train you for exam pressure. Stress, on the other hand, will only ruin your concentration, your memory and your confidence. Whatever decision comes – delay, no delay, tough paper, easy paper – it will affect everyone, not just you. There is simply no logical benefit in taking unnecessary stress and ruining your own performance.

Keep your head high, regardless of your circumstances. You will not get this exact time again, so use it efficiently. Make a simple daily plan, stick to it with discipline, sleep enough to keep your brain fresh and trust your effort more than the news cycle.

For context: I studied in Karachi Board; our intermediate exams finished around June/July, and I had very little time before MDCAT 2024. I still gave NUMS MDCAT, DUHS MDCAT, AKU, AMC and finally IBA MDCAT after the Dow paper got leaked. It wasn’t a smooth journey, but commitment kept me moving forward each day. You don’t need a perfect situation; you need consistent effort and commitment. If you stay focused in these two weeks, you are already on the path to success.

For any kind of help, DM me

Recent Acid attack on lady doctor in Quetta(Civil Hospital)

The recent acid attack on Lady doctor is so brutal and unacceptable. This is what we get in return from the survive of humanity. People doing these kind of shit should be ashamed of. Pakistani's Always disrespect and dishonour doctors just because they expect us to treat them free of cost. Single person in USA on average spends 11,000$ on Health per year, Pakistani's not even 1 lac and despite of this they're spitting that bullshit. These acts give me the answer why most of doctors end up leaving Pakistan or leaving the field and competing for CSS.

Note: ignore any grammatical errors, I'm not a native so don't expect me to be master in English

USMLE Journey seems easy when you get guided by the best!!

Ace USMLE like never before by being with like Minded community"From Steps 2 Residency".....

We know the USMLE journey can feel relentless — expensive, uncertain, and isolating. Many talented doctors from low‑income settings endure long hours, heavy patient loads, low pay, and little respect, yet are told the only route out is a costly, opaque pathway. We built From Steps to Residency because that does not have to be the whole story.

The “From Steps to Residency” community represents a comprehensive and results-driven ecosystem designed to support medical graduates at every stage of their USMLE journey. It has already empowered, and continues to guide, hundreds of students—from foundational Step 1 preparation through to securing valuable U.S. Clinical Experience (USCE) opportunities—while maintaining consistent, hands-on support all the way to achieving residency placement. What distinguishes this platform is its access to accomplished mentors who have successfully matched into their desired residency programs; these individuals provide real-time, practical guidance and are readily available to address queries with insight drawn from firsthand experience.

The structure of the community is both strategic and highly organized, featuring dedicated groups tailored to specific needs: Step 1 and Step 2 aspirants receive focused academic support, candidates seeking USCEs are guided toward credible opportunities, and research-oriented members benefit from specialized groups aimed at producing high-impact publications in reputable, gold-standard journals. This segmentation ensures that every participant engages in a targeted and efficient learning environment.

Moreover, the platform extends its inclusivity by offering a dedicated group specifically for Pakistani International Medical Graduates (IMGs), addressing their unique challenges and requirements. Collectively, this initiative stands out as a premier, all-encompassing platform—a true “gold standard” resource—for anyone aspiring to navigate the complex pathway from USMLE preparation to a successful residency match.

Expensive, Visa Rejections,Match Uncertainties but you know USMLE is still worth Considering!!

From Steps to Residency is a supportive, practical community created by physicians who’ve walked this path. We help you move forward strategically and affordably:

- Phased financing plan: register, verify, and sit Step 1 first — then take time to raise funds for Step 2 and USCEs. Many members funded progress from house job salaries and small loans (15–20 lakh examples), not all costs upfront.

- Practical USCE support: connections to residents and attendings who offer supervised clinical experiences at lower cost or pro bono, plus real recommendations that open interview doors.

- Resource sharing: access to UWorld‑compatible study materials, low‑cost or free resources, and vetted study partners so you don’t pay full price for everything.

- Mentorship and networking: direct guidance from matched physicians, honest timelines, CV and interview coaching, and an active peer network that reduces loneliness and stress.

- Realistic options: advice on Step 3, observerships, and stepwise decisions so you can apply for the Match when you’re truly ready.

We built this community out of empathy and experience — to make the route clearer, fairer, and more doable for those who can’t afford to burn through savings or wait for perfect timing. If you’re determined to pursue the USMLE but worried about money, time, or support, join From Steps to Residency today and get the practical help and human connection that make the difference.
