Can I use local mechanics without affecting the warranty?

I’m in the US and recently bought a used 2025 Hyundai Tucson.

I bought it from a non-Hyundai dealer, so it is not CPO. It was around 18 months old and had about 22k miles when I bought it. I recently hit 24k miles, and the car is now showing that service is due. I’m guessing this is the 24k mile service.

I’m not sure how necessary it is right now, since it has only been about 2 months since I bought the car from the dealer. I also had an inspection done when I bought it.

After doing some research, I’m thinking of doing small maintenance myself and using local mechanics for things like oil changes and tire rotations. I plan to follow Hyundai’s severe usage maintenance schedule and document everything with receipts, mileage, dates, and photos when possible.

I would only use the Hyundai dealership for recalls, like the current Tucson software update, or for bigger issues that local mechanics cannot handle.

Would this be okay? Could using local mechanics for routine maintenance affect my Hyundai warranty as long as I follow the schedule and keep records?

What's the best way to help the people on the streets?

For a long time, I’ve felt sad whenever I see homeless people on the streets. It feels unfair that I get to enjoy basic comforts while others are struggling.

I want to help, but I’m not sure what the best way is. I’m also a bit nervous about approaching strangers, so I’m looking for practical ways to help that do not require me to go too far outside my comfort zone at first.

I’ve thought about giving cash, but I’ve heard some say not to give cash because it could be used for drugs or alcohol. I’ve also thought about donating to shelters or organizations, but I’ve heard concerns that some donations mostly go to overhead. I’m not sure how accurate that is.

Would giving food be best? Or is money still the best option despite the risk? I could also find useful items I don't use, like shoes, socks, pillows, or other things people may need, and give them out. But I'm not sure how that would work because I usually only encounter homeless people when I'm driving, stopped at a light, or walking around downtown.

Sorry for my ignorance, as well as any possible insensitive assumptions. I do want to help, but because this is very new to me, I may not be fully aware of what could unintentionally hurt others.

Why does my sweat smell sweet?

My sweat has smelled sweet since middle school or high school. The closest smell I can compare it to is maple syrup.

My dad has diabetes, but I get regular health checkups every year and I do not have diabetes. I also do not have any major health issues that I know of. It is not Maple Syrup Urine Disease either.

It usually happens when I play sports or work out. Once the sweat dries a little, it starts to smell sweet. It never really bothered me, so I ignored it. But some friends have noticed it too and said I smell sweet.

One extra detail is that my regular underarm sweat smells more like normal body odor. The sweet smell is more noticeable after sports or workouts, especially after the sweat dries.

I wonder if it could be related to dehydration. For most of my life, I have not drunk much water day to day. I drink a lot after sports or workouts, but my normal water intake is probably lower than average.

I am not asking for a diagnosis. I am just curious if anyone else has had naturally sweet-smelling sweat and whether they ever figured out what caused it.

TLDR: My sweat has smelled sweet like maple syrup for more than 15 years, mostly after sports or workouts. I do not have diabetes or MSUD. My dad has diabetes, and I usually do not drink much water. Curious if anyone else has experienced this.

RPM goes up when going downhill?

This probably isn’t a Tucson specific phenomenon, but I’ve noticed that my 2025 Tucson gas model’s RPM goes up when going downhill, even when I’m not pressing the gas pedal.

I think it’s engine braking, but I just want to make sure this is normal behavior. It goes up to about 3000 RPM.

This also sometimes seems to mess with the transmission, I think. When I’m going downhill and slowly press the gas pedal, the RPM just rises higher without the gear shifting up, and then it jerks into the next gear.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this normal?

Should I fill up the coolant?

About to go on a 300 miles drive. I checked the coolant and its at this level. This is a 2025 Hyundai Tucson.

Would it be ok to drive with this? Or is there any temporary solution like filling it up with water?

Or should I go somewhere to fill it up with the proper coolant?

Driving around/nearby the city (~15 miles) always kept the engine temp under the half point mark.

How to return Peak trial's Whoop 5.0 after upgrading to Life?

I was doing a 1 month trial of the Peak plan, but 1 week in, I upgraded to the 1-year Life plan using the Chase Sapphire Reserve offer.

I got my Life plan equipment (Whoop MG, wireless charger, etc.) today.

How do I return the Whoop 5.0 device and charger now? I only see a "Gift your 5.0 to a friend" option in the app.

Also, can I keep the band that came with the Peak trial? 😅
