Please show me your fish

I was a passenger in a car accident and I am temporarily disabled to a point where I’m on bed rest and can’t fish for at least 12 weeks. So please if you’ve got them, let me see them!!

Tell me what your ideal future would look like 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am beyond exhausted from the world telling us that our way is no longer to trade goods and services. That everything should be run through the banks. Humans have been trading their skills in exchange for others skills since the dawn of time. But with the invention of money we’ve turned away from helping each other. I know that this is not true everywhere, but in America it’s really the norm in most communities.

Personally, I have lived against that mindset my whole life. If you need help, and I know how to help you, I will. I usually won’t take your money for it but if you offered to help me with something out in return, I’d always say yes.

I am writing this to set intention within myself and to put it out there in the universe of the future I’d want to see. I want to own land big enough to have an aquaponic greenhouse so that I can grow year round food for all the folks that live in my community. Not only produce but also harvesting the fish as they grow to large enough sizes to make room for new younger fish to grow. Our electricity, free, and abundant through solar power. Allotting some of my land to house others. Family and friends who also want to see a world that seeks to better its community.

I offer to those who read access to my DMs if you’d like some advice in any of the topics I consider myself well versed in:
Fly fishing (particularly in Colorado)
Some basic gardening, enough to confidently get a newbie up and running.
Including resources for aquaponic and hydroponic setups on a budget.

Finally, I leave you with the words of my favorite philosopher: “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.” - The Lorax by Dr. Seuss

Found Cat - South Denver near Bow Mar

Does this kitty look familiar to anyone? I can’t take it in because I have pets of my own but if you recognize it I’d be happy to get you details of where it is. I didn’t see if it was male or female, it’s very friendly and seems like it’s lost.

Paddle upgrades for Sea Eagle 285fpb

I bought a secondhand sea eagle and it’s a great little boat but the oars really leave something to be desired. They work okay but I find them to be not the right length for me personally and there’s no way to adjust that.

Recommend what I should plant!

I’ve only done hydroponics inside, mostly due to lack of outdoor space, but the house I’m in currently has a tiny patio with a perfect spot for me to put a 5 gallon bucket with a big net basket. I’m pretty open to what I plant and am willing to try some unique things so please unload your suggestions on me.

I live in Denver and the spot this is going in is part shade.

I spent the day on my float tube, here’s what I learned.

It’s my birthday this weekend and some of my favorite things in life are fly fishing and sharing my passion with others. So since I took today off to start my weekend early, I went to a nearby lake to take advantage of a weekday off. I also got the opportunity to test out my new backcountry skinz (I wish they were warmer because my tube has my butt in the water).

- Float tube fishing is basically like sitting on a comfortable couch chair and fishing. It’s awesome until the wind kicks up!
- Stillwater fishing is a patience game.. aka my limited attention span is lost after 10 seconds and I need to get that handled.
- Trout in lakes, specifically stocked rainbows, fight like mini tarpon.

How best to stitch this up?

I absolutely love this quilted hoodie but I’ve got a few sizable holes. Any suggestions on the best way to patch these? I have no idea what I’m doing lol

Stillwater Fly Box

Photos: Fly box, size 12 bead head blob, size 16 Chironomid (not a particular pattern just scrap material), some more Chironomids.

Out in the Western side of America we’re dealing with droughts, so I’ve converted my normal box to focus on still water fishing. On the left side top down you’ve got blobs (some weighted, some not, some FAB), leeches (balanced, unweighted, & weighted), minnow patterns, junk flies (worms and eggs), and tiny dries for those real picky risers. On the right is just Chironomid and nymph city. Any suggestions to up my still water game?

Currently fishing a 9’ 7wt and 9’ 5wt but hoping to get a 10’ 5 or 6wt for my birthday at the end of the month so also taking rod suggestions.🤞🏻

Location: Colorado, USA

The movie ratatouille…

Why doesn’t the rat speak with a French accent? He’s from France. They established he lived in the restaurant his whole life… I feel like they’re implying that all rats originate in America and are brought to France by Americans. Like the bumbling AMERICAN buffoon, Linguine.

Going through a rough time..

I’m going through a super tough time in my life and in hopes of a free thing to get back into I’m getting a new library card and want to pick up a book. I am going to list out some things I like, let me know if you have suggestions.

- I like Madeline Miller’s books a LOT
- I have adhd and dyslexia so nothing with complex language
- I’m not looking for any more of that soft core 🌽 style stuff, I’m okay with some of it but not the whole thing.
- I love being outside in nature, science or nature themes
- I like suspense but not horror themes
- It needs to be more fast paced and not lull through details or I’ll lose interest
- it’s been awhile since I read a book so maybe something not too long for a easy win

Thanks!

I’m getting a minn kota endura 30lb trolling motor for my sea eagle 285fpb. Can someone tell me the absolute best battery I can get for myself for under $250? I am so god damn confused by the choices. I want lithium if possible.

Will it fish?? Idk if there’s a pattern out there that’s the same. I didn’t have quite the right stuff to tie a micro dungeon so I just subbed out things here and there.

Hooks - (2) size 12 Tiemco U6808BL-BN

Tail & collar - olive marabou (collar is twisted in a dubbing loop)

Body - Speckled chenille (& Olive saddle hackle on the back hook)

Wire - Red Brassie

Eyes - Medium brass eyes
