🏳️‍🌈 Boise Pride Booth Volunteers?

We are considering hosting a joint Humanists of Idaho / Idaho Atheists booth at Boise pride in September.

Before we officially register and pay for the booth space, we want to make sure we have enough hands on deck to staff it.

Each volunteer would cover a 3-hour shift on either Saturday or Sunday.

We need enough committed volunteers to cover both full days.

If you would be willing and able to take a shift, please comment below.

If we get enough interest, we’ll move forward with booking the space and will send out an official sign-up sheet with specific time slots. Thanks, everyone!

Disability Pride Doesn’t Mean It’s Always Easy.

July is Disability Pride Month. 💙♿
As someone who is hard of hearing, I want to be honest: there are still days when accepting my hearing loss is difficult. Not because I’m ashamed of it, but because navigating a hearing world isn’t always easy.

I know what accommodations and resources are available to me. The hard part is that not everyone in the hearing world knows how to communicate or support us. That can leave me feeling frustrated and misunderstood.

Disability Pride doesn’t mean I love every challenge that comes with my hearing loss. It means I’m learning to embrace who I am while continuing to advocate for accessibility, understanding, and inclusion.

I’m proud to be part of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, and I’m hopeful that sharing our experiences helps create a more inclusive world.

Happy Disability Pride Month. 💙

ALL of US 250 Idaho 50501 Event

Get Free and 50501 are inviting groups from across the country to mobilize on June 27th for a national day of action called All of U.S. 250. Americans across the country will march and rally for truth, equality, and freedom a week before the 250th Anniversary of America’s Declaration of Independence and days after the expected Supreme Court ruling on birthright citizenship.

On June 27th, All of US will stand for liberty and demand equality over erasure.

The MAGA regime is in the midst of trying to whitewash our past to lay the groundwork for a white supremacist future, erasing both the ongoing impacts from enslavement, Jim Crow, and genocide, and the gains won by oppressed ancestors.

Reckoning with our full history is how we make this country live up to its ideals.

Trump wants to keep the promise of America only for wealthy, white men like him by disappearing Black and brown Americans, rolling back their civil rights and freedom to vote, and taking away birthright citizenship.

As Americans continue to speak truth to power in our schools, demand our workplaces refuse to comply with injustices, and defy modern day slave patrols in our streets, all of US who believe in equality over erasure will march and rally as one on June 27th.

While we boycott and reject Trump’s anti-American, whitewashed 250th, all of US will join together to take up the torch from our ancestors, reckon with and repair from our history, and create a future where liberty and justice are for all.
