Subject Selection in High School

Does KFUPM have any specific high school subject requirements for different programs? I took Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science until Grade 10, then chose Math, Physics, and Computer Science in Grades 11 and 12. With this subject combination, will I be able to apply for Electrical Engineering through the SAT Track?

WHAT IS THIS INTERVIEW?!

I got the interview email, and there was a video attached. The guy in the video said that only "some" students received the interview invitation. I’m not sure how accurate that is, but the important part is what he said next.

He literally said, "We're doing these interviews to check for AI-generated submissions."

Like... what?! You're using AI to check for AI? What is even going on in this world? 😂

I also had some questions regarding the interview. Can someone please guide me on what type of questions are asked and do we have to turn on our camera?

FBISE — disadvantage vs A-Levels/IB for MIT?

I’m in the FBISE (Pakistan national curriculum) and ranked in the top ~0.01% of my board.

Stats:

SAT: 1590

FBISE student (top 0.01%)

I had no other option but to follow FBISE (no A-Levels/IB available)

Considering only academics (not ECs or essays), does not having A-Levels/IB/AP put me at a disadvantage for top US universities like MIT? How is FBISE typically viewed in comparison academically?

Is this idea good?

Is this a good research project?

I'm exploring a system for contamination source detection in water distribution networks using a hybrid model that combines Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) with hydraulic models.

The goal is to identify the contamination source and affected areas even when sensors are sparse, provide confidence levels for predictions, and automatically isolate contaminated sections by closing valves.

Would this be considered a novel and practical research direction? What are the main challenges or limitations you see?

Any ISEF finalist from pakistan?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to participate in the Pakistan National Science & Engineering Fair (NSEF), which qualifies students for ISEF.

Does anyone know when registration usually opens and closes each year? I'd also appreciate any information about the project submission timeline and competition schedule from previous participants.

Thanks!
