Is it safe to receive USD payments on a BDL Visa card as an Algerian?

I'm in Algeria and I have a Visa card from BDL. If someone sends me USD payments (for freelance work or online platforms), can I receive the money without issues? Has anyone here done this?

I'm mainly wondering if the bank might question where the money came from, ask for proof, or block the funds. I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially if you've used a BDL Visa card.

The Biggest Mistake Finance Candidates Make

If you're targeting Investment Banking, Equity Research, or Capital Markets, don't spend all your time on technicals.

Prioritize:

Strong 1-page resume

Networking

Behavioral interview prep

Then technicals (DCF, 3 statements, valuation)

A great resume and good communication often get you further than memorizing every finance question.

What's the best recruiting advice you've received?

Why did the Dark Lord of the Sith have to wait 75 minutes at the DMV?

Because even the Force is no match for the dark side of a waitlist.

Automated court reservation bot for rich suburban paddle tennis clubs

paddle tennis is exploding in wealthy suburban suburbs, and court reservations open online at midnight on Mondays. all slots fill up in under three seconds. rich executives were literally complaining on Facebook groups about missing their 7 AM Thursday court time.

i built a lightweight headless browser automation script wrapped in a WhatsApp bot interface. member texts "thu 7am court 1", bot hits the facility reservation system at 00:00:00.002 and secures the court. charging 25 members $80 a month each. zero server costs, running off a free tier cloud instance, and my users treat me like a savior.

programmed a bot room where Leon Kennedy gets stuck with Rhysand from ACOTAR

leon is standing in a dark damp corridor holding a pump shotgun checking for las plagas parasites and rhysand drops down from a shadow wearing velvet robes, hitting him with the "hello, feyre darling" smirk.

leon didn't even flinch. he just asked rhysand if he had any yellow herbs or 9mm handgun ammo in his pockets. rhysand tried to do the dark night court mind-reading aura thing on him and the bot literally generated an error response because leon's brain is so trauma-fried from raccoon city that there's nothing in there except jet ski maneuvers and Ashley's screaming.

pitching commercial auto body shops on "paint depth meter" video hooks

used car buyers and auto body clients are terrified of hidden accident damage. i shot 15-second video hooks for a local body shop using a magnetic paint depth gauge against car panels.

when the gauge reading spikes on a repainted door, the visual hook is insane. the body shop uses it on Meta ads to pitch their frame alignment services.

What's one NotebookLM feature you think more people should use?

I've been using NotebookLM more lately, and I feel like I'm still missing some of its best features.

Right now I mostly use it to summarize PDFs and ask questions about my notes, but I'm sure there are better ways to use it.

What's one feature or workflow that genuinely made NotebookLM more useful for you?

I accidentally made money... finding people's lost golf balls

A friend told me to check the ponds around a local golf course after closing. I thought he was joking.

Turns out, golfers lose hundreds of balls every week. I spent one Saturday collecting them, cleaned them at home, sorted them by brand, and sold them in bundles online.

I made around $180 from my first haul. It's definitely not something I'd do every day, but it was one of the weirdest ways I've ever made extra cash.

Anyone else have a side hustle that sounds fake but actually works?

One thing that improved my sell-side prep

I spent less time memorizing answers and more time understanding markets and company earnings. It made interviews much easier.

What's one thing that helped you prepare?
