Do you prefer building games with simple, visual crafting, or deep, realistic systems like power grids, plumbing, and insulation?

What cozy or realistic mechanics would you love to see in a co-op off-grid life simulator?

Hey everyone!

I’m currently developing a Cozy Off-Grid Life Simulator, a game meant for slowing down, disconnecting from modern chaos, and building a self-sufficient homestead, either solo or with friends in co-op.

My main goal is to hit that sweet spot between relaxing, cozy vibes and deep, satisfying off-grid mechanics.

What’s already built & working:

  • Co-op Multiplayer: Gather resources, build, and chill around the campfire together.
  • Modular Building System: Full snapping mechanics for building custom cabins, houses, and shelters.
  • Cozy Survival Loop: Woodcutting, foraging, fishing, tool crafting, and cooking hearty meals.
  • Deep Electrical Grid: Photovoltaic solar panels, inverters, power storage, batteries, socket wiring, and cable throughput limits (e.g., using the wrong wire or skipping the inverter causes overloads or blown fuses!).

While the electrical grid is super fun to mess with, I really want to expand the homesteading side of things even further.

Some features I'm currently considering:

  • Water Systems: Rainwater harvesting, filtration, and plumbing for hot showers or garden irrigation.
  • Alternative Energy: Windmills, micro-hydro power from streams, or wood-fired water heaters.
  • Farming & Food Preservation: Greenhouse gardening, canning/pickling for winter, and composting.
  • Seasons & Comfort: Wood-burning stoves, cabin insulation, and staying cozy during harsh winters.

If you were playing a game like this, what mechanics or features would make it your absolute dream game? I'd love to hear your ideas, wishlists, and feedback!

Building an off-grid simulator with custom wiring & solar grids. What homesteading mechanics would you love to see?

Hey everyone!

I am currently developing a Cozy Off-Grid Life Simulator where you can slow down, disconnect from modern chaos, and build a self-sufficient homestead, either solo or together with friends in multiplayer!

I really want to hit that sweet spot between relaxing, cozy vibes and deep, satisfying off-grid mechanics.

Here is what I have already built so far:

  • Co-op Multiplayer: Gather, build, and chill around the campfire with your friends.
  • Modular Building System: Full snapping mechanics for constructing houses, cabins, and structures.
  • Cozy Survival Loop: Woodcutting, foraging, fishing, cooking hearty meals, and tool crafting.
  • Deep Electrical Grid: Photovoltaic solar panels, inverters, power storage, batteries, socket wiring, and cable throughput limits (e.g., using the wrong wire or bypassing the inverter causes overloads or blown fuses).

While having a functional electrical system with solar and batteries is great, I want to expand the homesteading lifestyle even further.

If you were playing a game like this, what cozy or realistic off-grid mechanics would you be most excited to see?

Some features I am currently considering:

  1. Water Systems: Rainwater harvesting, filtration systems, and plumbing for a cozy hot shower or garden irrigation?
  2. Alternative Energy: Windmills, micro-hydro power from a nearby stream, or wood-fired water heaters?
  3. Farming & Food Preserving: Greenhouse gardening, canning or pickling for winter, and composting?
  4. Seasons & Comfort: Wood-burning stoves, insulation, and staying warm and cozy during harsh winter nights?

What are your personal must-haves or dream mechanics for a cozy off-grid game? I would love to hear your ideas and feedback!
