Arc'teryx Atom Hoody sizing advice

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get an Arc'teryx Atom Hoody, but unfortunately there isn't an Arc'teryx retail store where I live, so I can't try it on before buying.

I'm around 175–177 cm and 74 kg. I currently wear an Arc'teryx Beta SL in size M and a Patagonia Torrentshell 3L in size M.

For anyone around a similar build who owns the Atom Hoody, what size would you recommend?

I'll mainly be using it as a mid-layer under a shell, but also as an outer layer on its own.

Would really appreciate any advice on sizing and how the Atom fits. Thanks!

Patagonia Nano Puff sizing — M or L? And how is it supposed to fit?

I’m trying to decide between a Medium and Large Patagonia Nano Puff and would appreciate some advice from people who own one.

I’m around 175–177 cm and 74 kg. I wear:

  • M Arc’teryx Beta SL
  • M Patagonia Torrentshell 3L
  • L in Uniqlo oversized T-shirts (Asian sizing)

I tried on the Nano Puff in M with a T-shirt, and it feels comfortable. I can also fit a Uniqlo HEATTECH or Kathmandu KMDcore underneath, but I don’t think I could comfortably fit a thin fleece.

My main concern is how the Nano Puff is actually supposed to fit. Is it meant to fit relatively close to the body, or should it have a looser/roomier fit for layering?

I’m planning to use it both on its own and underneath my M Beta SL or M Torrentshell 3L. I’m worried that if I size up to L, the Nano Puff might be too bulky underneath my M rain shells.

Would you recommend sticking with M, even if I can't comfortably fit a fleece underneath, or going with L for more layering room?

For those who own a Nano Puff, how does yours fit, and what size did you choose relative to your height/weight?

Dark patches on the inside of my Torrentshell 3L (less than 2 months old) – normal?

Hi everyone,

My Patagonia Torrentshell 3L is less than 2 months old, and I've noticed several flat dark patches/marks on the inside of the jacket.

The fabric feels completely normal, it isn't raised, soft, sticky, bubbling, or peeling. The jacket is still waterproof, and the DWR is working well.

I noticed these marks before I washed the jacket. I then washed it for the first time following Patagonia's care instructions using Nikwax Tech Wash and tumble dried it on a low-heat Outdoor cycle. The marks remained unchanged after washing.

I've attached photos of the marks.

Has anyone experienced something similar with their Torrentshell 3L? Do you have any suggestions on how to remove this stain?

Salomon backpacks

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what people's overall experience has been with Salomon backpacks. How would you rate their quality, durability, comfort, and functionality for the price?

For example, backpacks like the Trailblazer 20, but I'm interested in Salomon backpacks in general rather than just that specific model.

Have they held up well over time? Do you think they offer good value compared to other brands in a similar price range? I'd love to hear your experiences, whether positive or negative.

Anyone else unable to see their Semester 1 results? (GPA -999 / "Sanctioned" status)

Hi everyone,

Is anyone else having issues with today's Semester 1 results release?

My results were supposed to be released today, but instead of letter grades, several of my Semester 1 courses show "Sanctioned". My GPA is also showing -999, and my credit points are 0.00.

I don't have any outstanding fees and haven't received any communication from UC about problems with my record, so I'm wondering if this is a system issue or if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

Has anyone else seen this, or know what "Sanctioned" means in this context?
