Stuck in a vicious cycle and want to get out

Background: been under CHMT on/off for 15 years now (CAMHS before that), tried multiple rounds of different therapies, tried more medications that I can count (antidepressants alone are in the double digits). Now seeking autism & adhd diagnoses but the assessments are a long way off. In the meantime all the support I have is CMHT.

Stuck in a cycle of avoiding seeking help because of past bad experiences with CMHT, trying to help myself instead > finally breaking down and seeking help from CMHT > CMHT then being unhelpful at best and traumatising at worse > me being left feeling even worse, disengaging and riding it out with mental breakdowns/SH until I exhaust myself and go back to step one

Currently at the stage in the cycle where CMHT are being unhelpful and I’m wanting to disengage but I’m so tired of this.

I think I continue to engage with CMHT despite everything because

  1. Most importantly, I have a child and I want professionals to be aware of my deteriorating mental health for her sake

  2. I also want them to know for my sake; I bottle things up a lot which makes the deterioration worse, and though I can share my struggles with a couple of people from my personal life I don’t want to burden them too much (they are not mental health professionals)

Has anyone here been stuck in the same cycle and managed to free themselves?

Owl Centre suddenly sending multiple questionnaires… is this a sign the assessment is getting closer?

Daughter was referred for an autism assessment over one year ago, the child autism assessment provider in my area is the Owl Centre (this is NHS, not RTC).

I got confirmation of the referral shortly after it was received, since then I’ve only got periodic emails stating my daughter was still on the waiting list.

Today I received an email asking me to fill out a short and generic consent questionnaire. After filling it out I received another. In total I’ve filled out four short questionnaires this morning just asking for my consent to information being shared, checking I have a device to do the online assessment, asking about my daughter’s communication needs etc.

I’m wondering if this is a sign that the assessment will take place soon?

Would GP re-prescribe medication previously prescribed by CMHT/psychiatrist?

I want to restart a medication I was previously prescribed by CMHT psychiatrist, however it takes months to get an appointment. I also don’t have a CCO currently so can’t ask through them.

Can I request a new prescription from my GP or does a psychiatrist need to prescribe it again? If it makes a difference, the medication is aripiprazole. I’ve had it initially prescribed by the psychiatrist and the GP continued to prescribe previously.

If not what’s the easiest way to request through CMHT or do I need to request a psychiatrist appointment?

Genuine question - what is the use of the buyer protection fee?

Received an item today which was significantly not as described, so much that I noticed the damage while opening it. The damage was not indicated in the item condition (“very good”), description (no flaws), or photos (seller was sneaky with lighting and angles). Raised the issue with Vinted and included lots of photos to show the extent. Seller has requested I return the item for refund. They will not pay return shipping, and Vinted expects me to or I forfeit the refund.

Genuinely wondering what on earth the buyer protection fee is actually for? If it’s not for protecting you from losing money because you have to pay to return a faulty item to a scammer… what is it for? Like I’m ranting but also I do want to know if there’s something I’m missing 😂

RTC providers who will continue NHS prescribing? (GP doesn’t do SCA)

Is there a list? I’ve checked the ADHDUK waiting list page and only found Harley Street Mental Health state that they do this.

GP surgery has agreed to do the RTC referral but stated they do not accept SCA. Would like to stay at the same surgery as otherwise had a positive experience & think other local GPs would have same stance.

Thanks
