InDesign creating separate version of file when someone else opens and modifies the original.

I often work in InDesign files alongside a designer. Occasionally, when the designer opens, updates, and saves the file, InDesign appears to generate a separate file with their computer/device ID appended to the end of the filename (e.g., "InDesignFile-Computer1234.INDD"). I typically open files from the recent files section on the InDesign homepage, so I don't always realize that a separate file has been created. That can result in my inadvertently editing an out-of-date file, which can cause massive headaches later in the design process.

Obviously, I need to get in the habit of checking the file's folder to see if a second version has been created. But I'd like to prevent this from happening in the first place.

For context, we're on PCs and using OneDrive. Is this something I can fix myself, or should I consult with our internal IT department or Adobe support?

Save emails in New Outlook folder to OneDrive folder?

I need to bulk save an inbox full of project-related to a OneDrive folder. This was easy to do in the old version of Outlook but seems to be impossible to do in new Outlook.

So I am attempting to build a manual flow that would save project emails in a (new) Outlook folder into a OneDrive folder, but I keep getting various error messages. Troubleshooting with copilot has not helped. Is there a tutorial that I could use to build this.

Emerald Park crowds on a Monday afternoon in mid-June?

I’m a roller coaster enthusiast with a 4-hour block of free time in Dublin on a Monday afternoon in June. I’ll be arriving in Dublin via the Connolly station around 14:00 and would Uber/taxi to Emerald Park (the bus would take too long). The park is only open until 17:00, so I would only have ~2 hours to ride its six roller coasters. Is this doable? I assume schools are still in session, so I’m hoping lines wouldn’t be too long. I know it will be a costly trek, but I don’t know when I’ll be back in the country.

A modafinil appreciation post

I’m not sure where else to share this, but I need to sing the praises of modafinil.

Before starting it, I was *always* tired. If I didn’t have a 9-5 job, I’d take a 2-3 hour nap every day. I suffered from off-and-on early morning insomnia (waking up 1-2 hours before my alarm) and was later diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. I would average 5-6 hours of sleep a night. Even on the rare occasion when I would get 7-8, I was still tired midday. My desk job was torturous. Some days I’d be nearly in tears from fatigue. It undoubtedly impacted my performance and output.

After struggling with the CPAP machine, my doctor prescribed modafinil. I’m generally hesitant to take medication unless it’s absolutely necessary. But I decided to try it out of desperation.

After a brief adjustment period (brutal headaches — I have to drink a ton of water and supplement with Alpha GPC choline), it has been a game-changer and has changed my life. I know my lack of sleep still affects my cognition, but being able to function without the weight of extreme fatigue has been unreal.

I wanted to share in case anyone was on the fence, as I read many horror stories. And that’s not to discount anyone’s experience — I know medication affects everyone differently. But I think it’s worth trying.

[Ireland] For those who have flown in Ireland - where did you fly (legally)? Is it worth paying for registration/training?

I’m traveling from the US and will be all over the country during my visit, so the exact location isn’t as big of a deal-breaker. I’m just curious what locations I should target for the best photos and video. Thanks!
