Cape Cod to Florida, 1,200+ miles, then straight onto the sand

Bought this LT up in Dover, DE back in June. Since then it's hauled everything we own through 15 states, and we just wrapped the last leg: 1,200+ miles from Cape Cod down to Florida. Staying put now, so the truck's officially home.

Took it out to the Vilano Beach 4x4 area this morning to celebrate. Soft sand, no problem

at 6,300 mi (2 oil changes):
👍 Electronics are stellar, truck feels strong + nimble, best 4x4 I've driven, zero issues

👎 AC gets ice cold but could hit harder out of the gate, and the in-cab storage spots (like the tray behind the screen) aren't very useful

Feels like the transmission really rewards finding a smooth rhythm with it. Random hard shifts seem to be avoidable if I drive it ‘right’. Curious if others found the same.

Wild Power Wagon build

Spotted this one today. Not mine, but I haven’t seen a Power Wagon set up quite like this

Going aggressive with early maintenance on the 2.7L. overkill or worth it?

thoughts about going hyper aggressive with early maintenance on the 2.7L?

I know the TurboMax is generally considered one of the more solid turbos in a truck these days, but modern trucks still don’t have the best reputation for going 250k+ without major work. I’ve been wondering if doing everything early and consistently might actually move the needle.

Things like:
• Oil changes every 3-4k for the life of the truck
• Transmission fluid service well before 30-40k

genuinely curious if anyone’s gone this route and noticed a difference long-term, or if it’s mostly overkill once you’re past the break-in period.

What’s been your approach?

iPhone Air concerns largely unfounded (coming from years on a 14)

I’ve been on an iPhone 14 for awhile now. Generally underwhelmed with the current phone market tho. Everything is incremental and uninspired. I’m convinced something genuinely innovative is coming that heavily leverages AI, and I was trying to wait it out.

Problem was my 14’s battery was completely shot, charging 3–4 times a day, so it was forcing my hand.

I’ve always run caseless and just wanted a phone that felt light and easy to handle again. The Air checked that box, and T-Mobile had a strong trade in promo that brought it down to about $8 a month over 24 months, which made the decision easy.

I spent most of the time after ordering worrying about the usual talking points: battery life, the single camera, and heat. Got it yesterday and those concerns pretty much disappeared.

The jump from the 14 feels significant. Everything is smoother, the photos have been excellent (I never really switched modes on the 14 anyway), and the battery has held up well for my usage so far. I’m on my phone a lot, but it’s lighter use, X, Reddit, Slack, ETrade etc.. No gaming or long video sessions.

Imo they could have kept the same size as the 14 and it would’ve been even lighter. Felt heavier than I expected out of the box and it’s prob bc I never got a Pro + being caseless already. I know the battery will probably degrade over time, but I only need it to get through the next 24 months and I think it will.

Any similarity experiences coming from an older phone to this thing?

Truck’s final state (2026 LT, 2400 miles)

Pulled the dealer badge + the 4x4 stickers. Looks clean. Might be just about done here. Happy with the truck

My version of ‘truck stuff’

We live on the road, moving to a new spot every month or two, been over a year now (Harpswell ME to St Augustine FL + back up). Everything comes with us, so “truck stuff” for me is often gonna be the bed packed to the top on moving day.

Was making it work out of a Ford Edge (long-term rental) until I bought this (2026 LT) a month ago. Hell of an upgrade! This was the Colorado’s first real pack for travel w/ all our stuff, it was tight but got everything in there and the truck didn’t blink along the way.

Not the usual truck stuff shot, but this is what it does for us. Truck’s earning its keep now (bulldog approves)

2026 Colorado LT 4WD – Just hit 1k miles

Picked this up recently and put a few upgrades on it right away

• New Black Rhino Vanguard 17” matte black wheels today — ties the color scheme together + the drive is like silk now

• Blacked-out Chevy emblem

• BakFlip MX4 tonneau (included in OTD price, installed offsite by the dealer)

Kept the factory tires for now. Happy w/ this set up
