Does anyone know if work has begun on Portland?
The construction notice said it was supposed to begin on week of April 30th and last 2 weeks. The last time I checked was a couple weeks ago and it hadn't begun yet. Has anyone noticed work starting? https://www.toronto.ca/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/978b-Installation-Notice-Portland2026.pdf

A great update to the Ookwemin Minising sees the middle of the new development transformed into a pedestrian space! This a huge improvement from the initial plan presented to council in 2024. Along with Centre Commons which will be pedestrian and cycle access only. Ookwemin and Foundry streets will be woonerfs with one-way car access.

There were 30 speakers, and 60 letters all in favour, which is extremely rare. Along with 2,200 signatures on a petition. The next stop before it is implemented is city council on May 20th.
