We've done "Which Pokémon would you own in real life?" to death, so let's try something new:

You're minding your own business one day when suddenly Arceus pokes his head through an interdimensional portal and offers you any hold item of your choosing, but it works on humans in everyday life the same way it works on Pokémon in the games. If you choose a reusable item like a Focus Sash it will be infinitely reusable, and if you choose a berry you get a berry tree that's divinely enchanted so that one new berry will always be ripe for the picking as soon as your last one is consumed.

The one catch is that you can't entirely apply real world logic to the items: They work the way they do in the games. You can't e.g. just use the Eject Pack to zoom around at will: Someone or something has to hurt you first, then the item will trigger and fly you to safety. Berries like Leppa, Sitrus, Pecha etc. are an exception here, since they're also usable items from the "Bag" menu. Single-use items will replenish themselves ten minutes after use, at which time any stat boosts they gave you will have worn off (and again, you can't just use them continuously: You need to be in the situation where their use is automatically triggered).

Every new generation of Pokémon has introduced a variety of new stuff: New Pokémon, new moves, new gimmicks, sometimes new types, and, especially relevant here, new quality of life features. So what if there were a generation before Gen 1? What are some missing features that were only introduced in Gen 1? Which Pokémon, moves, or types didn't exist? Which inconvenience would be fixed by a genius new innovation introduced in Pokémon Red and Green/Blue? Let's get creative. (I'll put a few examples in the comments)
