287 southbound closed at 50th St

FYI: Cop car blocking all southbound lanes for something happening further down. Take 57th (preferred) or 50th to Monroe to bypass.

What happened at Round Mountain?

Lots of emergency vehicles in the parking lot with lights going around noonish, no fire alert from Watch Duty so I don't think it's that. Just wondering if anyone knew what happened?

Covering plants

I guess the whole Front Range has a Severe TStorm watch tonight, what are y'all doing about your gardens? I'm wondering whether to prophylactically cover my veggies, so I'm not running around doing it at 1am or crying at 6am.

Sprinklers at Loveland High going for hours

Walked by Loveland high on 29th, sprinklers were going, okay. I noticed because a lot of water was going down the gutters. Walking back by a couple hours later, sprinklers are still on. WTH we are in a drought! And it's a timed system so come on, TVSD.

Beet advice

I started beets a couple months ago and they are maybe an inch and a half diameter or smaller. Should I just harvest and then try starting more in late summer? Or is there a chance they will get bigger?

When do people start beets for a fall crop? I feel like our autumn weather is just as variable as spring, but now I have a better system to cover them.

Volunteer tree-what kind?

Any idea what kind of volunteer tree this is? Please ignore the Russian olive in the background; that's already been cut down. I'm referring to the red one. Just trying to decide whether to leave it or cut it down. Thanks!

It's full on blooming, and thriving because I watered it over the winter. As a long time Coloradan, I knew not to be lulled into planting sensitive annuals like tomatoes yet, and will cover my miracle artichoke, but not sure if it's possible to cover the clematis as it's vining up a pole about 5 ft high

Just FYI in that neighborhood there's something going on, possibly a suspect barricaded. Lots of cops, some loud bangs. 287 is running okay it's just to the east near the Sonic. I didn't see anything posted on it recently so will delete if I find out I doubled someone else's
