Does anyone know where to get Samurai keys from a known key code?

Hi everyone,

I lost the only key to my samurai some time last year, and the car has been sitting over a year partially because of this. Thankfully, I was recently able to find the car’s key code from the passenger door’s lock cylinder. The car has a U7**** code.

Unfortunately, I cannot seem to find anywhere online that would be able to sell this key. I’ve found plenty of sellers that sell Samurai keys, but it seems like the 7000-8200(I think) range is just nonexistent online.

The reason I’m heavily relying on online sources is because I cannot seem to find a local automotive locksmith. There’s a few locksmith places around me but none of them have any kind of automotive code database, they only really do key duplication. It also isn’t super easy to come across a Suzuki dealership in the States either. There’s one near me but it’s a powersports/motorcycle dealership. I’ve been searching online and asking locals for the last 2 weeks and I cannot seem to get a promising answer. If I can’t find a seller online then I’ll probably end up having to travel quite a ways to find a locksmith, which I’d be okay with, but I figured I’d try to see if there’s any online sellers before I end up doing that. It’s been recommended to me to just replace all the locks and the ignition cylinder on the car with a new set, but I’ve been putting that off because I don’t think it should be this hard to get a key made.

I just figured I’d ask in here if anyone else had to get keys for their samurai, and if so, where did you get a key from? Or, would the powersports & motorcycle dealership near me actually be able to help with this?

Truck runs very rough and sounds like it’s knocking when placed under load at low speeds, goes back to normal after giving it some throttle

Hi everyone. I recently tracked down my dad’s 2006 F150 he had when I was a kid. It’s got the 5.4 Triton V8 (yeah, yikes).

I’ve been driving it the past week, and it runs and drives pretty good. However, there is a big thing that concerns me. A few times now, primarily in parking lots, it sometimes runs horrible. If in gear but on the breaks, or under load in general, the engine sometimes begins to misfire really bad. It definitely loses a few cylinders, possibly a whole bank of the engine. The engine begins making a knocking noise (sounds like a diesel tractor), and the RPM drops down to nearly dying. If I give it a second or two, the RPM will smooth back out to around 500-600 where it usually idles, but it still misfires and sounds like it’s knocking. The only thing that fixes this is if I give it throttle. It’ll get up to about 1500-2000rpm on the few cylinders it’s running on, then it’ll smooth back out and idle fine. After the few times this has happened, I am now able to make it do this on command, the easiest way I found is by letting it crawl up a hill in reverse.

(tldr) Essentially, the only thing that puts the truck into this state is when it’s under load at low speeds, and the only thing that gets it out of this state is by giving it throttle.

The difficulty im having with diagnosing it is the fact that the truck does not throw a check engine light or any trouble code when this happens. From what I can find and what I’ve been told, it’s likely just an ignition issue with the coils and possibly plugs. I know these engines are known for having issues with cam phasers and the VCT system, which would give similar symptoms, but I’m not too confident it’s something like that. Plus, the truck currently has just shy of 156,000 miles, which is a bit early for these to have issues.

I’m leaning more towards an intermittent misfire issue, but I figured I’d share this online and get more opinions before I start digging into it. It still runs and drives fine and I plan to continue driving it, I just gotta be careful in parking lots.

Tracked down my dad’s 2006 FX4 he had when I was a kid.. and bought it! The guy selling it was asking $4,000 but reached out because he knew I had sentimental attachment and said I could have it for $2,500!

He owned the truck from 2007-2017. When he sold it he kept the chrome wheels he had and said I could put them back on this truck!

It’s a little rough but I’d be happy to put the money into this to bring it back into its prime.

Do Samurai’s have key codes?

Hi everyone!

Some time since last year the key to our Samurai was unfortunately lost. Tonight I decided to dig into it to try to find a key code. I pulled both door lock cylinders, and checked the ignition cylinder, all to no avail?

Did these cars just not have key codes? Or am I looking in the wrong place?

Just picked up my first “real” motorcycle, a 1974 CB550 Four! She’s a little rough but for $315 I really can’t complain

Had to wait 10 minutes in line for them to make fresh empanadas and in return they decided to give me $70 worth of free tacos
