Okay, so I've been following the Cocktail 2 promotions, and genuinely every single week something new happens. 🤯💥(by chance ofc)

It starts with the trailer being ready to drop on may 29, everything's set, and then last minute, Maddock Films just... postpones it. "Revised promotional strategy" they said. okay sure. The trailer eventually comes out june 2 and the film releases june 19, so like... what was the plan exactly?

Then the trailer launch event itself , media got cramped into a bad space with poor sound and no feed while influencers were treated like royalty. journalists ended up boycotting the whole thing. A film called COCKTAIL, having the most disorganised launch setup, is sending me.😂😂🤣

Then comes the Rashmika moment. Shahid puts his hand on rashmika's shoulder at the music launch, she steps away, clip goes viral, everyone starts speculating she was uncomfortable, and both of them just... say nothing for a while. The silence made it so much worse, obviously. Shahid eventually recreated the step-back jokingly at another event, kriti lost it laughing, Rashmika clarified she didn't mean anything by it. fine, cute, but why let it brew for that long???? like what what was the intention

and THEN mashooqa drops, and within days a reddit user posts a comparison video with a 1993 italian track and people start losing it over the similarities. Pritam responds on Instagram stories calling everyone "self-appointed music detectives" who invented a genre of "imaginary similarities" and says they're basically his unpaid PR. i genuinely don't know if that's the most confident response ever or the most defensive one, if you can call it a response ;))

and then at a Pune mall event fans broke the security barricades and the entire cast had to be rushed out early.

trailer delay , media boycott , viral awkward moment, plagiarism drama , stampede. all in like 2.5 weeks of promotions.

film is out on june 19. god speed to everyone involved lol😭🙏🏻
