The interviewer asks about Helloween's experiences navigating the low period of the 90s when metal fell out of fashion. Part of Andi's response is that when they were managed by Rod & co., "each and every penny was important". He speaks about how the management pushed them to have stage setups that were just not good and that the band did not like at all. Because the audiences were small, management just didn't want to put money into better stages, although the band themselves wanted to. He says the band preferred to not earn as much right now but invest in attracting future audiences, but management was not on board.

It seems they were quite unhappy with Rod's direction on many points, starting from the legal issues with their recording company back in the day. There's another interview somewhere where Andi speaks of being uneasy with the very formal corporate style of discussions. Other band members have also said they had to resist being pushed by Rod to do some things musically that they didn't want to do. In contrast, apparently Rod has never interfered in the musical side of things with Maiden.

I just find it really interesting that Smallwood did such an excellent job with Maiden but not at all with Helloween, atleast according to the band.
