Do you read several manuals of the same weapon?

I personally do, and find it quite usefull in order to find slight alterations and refine my understanding of a certain system dealing with a particular weapon. Did it for broadsword and spadroon and now I'm doing it for smallsword. I'd highly recomend it but what is your view on the matter?

Parry Riposte Drill

This is a controlled drill that teachs the interaction between the blades in a prolonged parry riposte exchange, common in british military systems of the 18th and 19th century. I'm on the left and my student is on the right. Right now, I'm trying to get him to be able to react with the sword quickly but I know there's a lot of work he needs to do for the footwork. More drilling is required.

Is this workout going to grow my legs?

I want to increase athletic performance as well as grow my legs and glutes. Fencing practice has increased the size of my legs but not by much. I can't pay for a gym but I got myself a cheap bar put on 21 kg in order to try and work out. I'm doing 4 sets of 20 reps twice a week as well as my regular fencing practice (swordplay). I'm struggling a lot to get close to failure.

Is this going to work? What can I change in my workout? Should I do it more often?

How can I cold peen a pommel or pommel cap without the guard coming loose?

I'm currently finishing a saber for hema practice and I'm trying to cold peen a small pommel cap for it. But the guard keeps coming loose which means that the handel is moving in the tang and preventing a secure fit. How can I fix this?

My first succesful spear.

The first two had sockets that were too small, but this one finally came out nicely.

My favorite spadroon/smallsword

Made it a few months ago out of 1075 high carbon steel and I've loved fencing with it. It has just enough mass to deliver hand snipes but it handels so well you can do smallsword with it.

Blade length: 25 inch

Pob: 5cm

Weight: 700 grams

This was the very first sword I made, and though the balde has a lot of warping and shawdy grinding, its edge is still quite sharp.

Made it out of 1045, quenched in water, and tempered to a blue color.

I want to get to the point where I can cut without much telegraphing. My technique is a work in progress.
