Good and bad

So many good things with this game since their last big patch. Overall the feel of the game is great.

Still some occasional frustrating moments regarding switching and tackling.

Wanda bubble change

As someone who has picked up Wanda within the last few months, I really enjoy the multiple uses of the bubbles stun.

Example: A diver comes in on me or the healers and I drop the bubble on us and we just stay while the dive is usually stunned multiple times.

I don’t hate the change but I wanted to know how people more skilled with wanda felt about that specific change

Guess we’ll see what happens next patch

This game has become insufferable to play. I try a few matches every day and it’s the same shit every time.

- why do my tackles kick the ball away
- why are my defenders standing completely still
- they said they nerfed spinning? Lmao
- passing while being better still will go to the wrong player or just completely out.

Devs, how do you want people to play this game? Since I started in June, the game has had multiple shifts in how the game plays to where it’s difficult to get down how interactions play out.

Now I’m not saying people need to memorize or know fluently how every interaction with the ball/player will go but the discovery should at least be inviting to the player to try new formations, tactics, etc.
right now, it’s still 41212 almost every game, sprint down the side, wiggle till you’re in the box and then send a pass to score. It’s not fun, it’s not rewarding for winning in that way and it’s not inviting me to continue playing this game.

Hopefully next weeks patch improves on these things.

Patch

I think the patch made the game overall better but I’m having an awful time playing. Passing is definitely improved, skills have improved, I like the changes to the packs.

I’ve won 13 out of 25 games so far and I just feel like my defenders can’t pressure people off ball. Whether tackling them head on or if I choose defenders ahead of the ball, the runner still gets in front.

So many times when I go in to make a tackle, the game will read that I’ve already won the ball when I’m pressing B AS I’m going in and then my player boots the ball out.

Then on the flip side, I can be pressuring an attacker and go in to tackle with b and the attacker just glides right off.

Defending is currently very frustrating for me but I’m happy the devs are working to try to improve.

Clips attached for examples

2V5 😭

Shout out whoever you are! We passed and played around those fools like nobody’s business.

“Stop sprinting so much, it’ll help with defense”

Anyone want to explain what happened in these clips.

Constantly been told it’s my fault I’ve conceded some of these goals because sprinting causes your players to overcommit.

Ok, what’s happening in the first clip then

Or the 2nd

Or the 3rd

Passing/movement/idk?

Can someone explain what I did wrong here? 🤷🏽‍♂️

How does my player not take control of that pass?

Defending errors

Someone explain to me what awful errors I’m making.

I feel like my defenders are so useless sometimes.

RB to help does nothing because they just sit there and then they only help for maybe 5 seconds max and then they’ll “get tired” and just stop completely.

Please feel free to let me know what horrible errors I’ve made to allow these goals in these clips

Passing

I’m sorry but passing seems to have been made worse in this patch. Passes are getting misplaced 5-10 times in 1 game which makes me want to just stop playing for the day.

How have others felt about passing with this patch?

Hood enhanced teamup

From the guides/videos I’ve seen, many people’s gripe with the hood team up is the circumference being too small.

What if the enhanced version makes it even bigger? I feel like that would

  1. Be and look pretty cool and

  2. Would open up some many capabilities for brawling

What am I missing?

Why did it constantly switch me to someone NOT in front of the ball?

And all the players it switched were running AWAY from the middle leaving a clear path.

Please someone tell me what I am missing

Physicality V.S Defending for a DM

Title

What do you find to be more important for a DM?

Is overpowering an attacker based on their tackling stats or their strength? I’m not sure if there’s a place in game that explains this so I’m just looking for opinions.

Midfield standing still/defensive AI?

  1. I’m using my midfielder to follow the runner in the middle.

  2. I switch to my defender because they start to encroach on the box.

  3. The midfielder I was JUST using abandons his man and leaves him completely free.

  4. My other midfielders stand there watching while I try my best to defend with my 3 cb’s.

So what’s the play there? Do I just let my ai cb defend and stick with my midfielder? How do they want us to play this game? It’s so frustrating.

Enjoying the game but man is the AI fucking frustrating

Still having issues with inconsistent passing.

Ex: player passes to the opponent when the intended target was close by in open space

Spinning: I know yall are working on it but whew does it suck the fun out of this game instantly. That fix can’t come soon enough.

Outside of that, I’ve been enjoying it a lot more and been managing to put some players together well

Upgrade or stay?

Is it worth it to upgrade her for 32.5K?

I feel like no since she’ll only go up 1-2 points and I’m not sure her stats will really improve by that much. However maybe I am wrong.

Swaps/Quick Sell

Curious how people decide to put players towards swaps vs quick sell.

how often do yall do swaps and it ends up being worth it compared to the points?

Someone explain what I did wrong in these clips

1st clip:

Pressing R1 continuously, no one comes to the ball

So I become the player closest and they win the ball: Annoying because it felt like I had no other options but fair, the opposition predicted my throw.

Then, when they pass the ball, I know exactly what pass the player is going for so I use my CB to intercept and she completely leaves the pass and it’s a free goal. On top of the player waiting so long to score and my keeper rushing does nothing? I get that we don’t want the keepers to be OP but then what’s the point of the rush feature?

2nd clip:

I intercept the pass with my CB and CLEARLY PASS TO THE PLAYER IN MIDFIELD and it gifts the ball back and it’s another clear goal.

In that position, I can’t just wait to play the pass because their players will run over the defender and take the ball back so now I feel like my only options in defense are to boot it which just gifts possession back.

I’m really trying with this game but every day I hop on to play 1-2 games and it’s shit like this over and over. Think I’ll go back to rematch to get my soccer fill because it’s getting exhausting playing this game honestly.

So please, anyone who wants to dissect and tell me what I should/could do in those scenarios, help me out.

Passing

Passing needs work. So many times the pass

- bypasses the open player

- goes way left/right instead of center

- goes straight to an opponent

How am I supposed to play any other attack except counters if this is how the system works?
