Gay bar recommendations

I'm looking for recommendations for the best gay bars anywhere in the uk

I'm hoping to find places that are:

- Fun and vibrant

- Friendly and welcoming, especially if you're going on your own

- Easy to meet and chat with people

- A good social atmosphere

- A pool table would be a huge bonus!

I recently went to a gay bar by myself for the first time. I was proud that I stayed and had a drink, but I only ended up speaking to the bartender. I'd love to keep pushing myself and find venues where it's easier to meet people.

Which bars would you recommend, and are there any particular nights that are best?

Thanks!

Gay bar recommendations

I'm fairly new to exploring London's LGBTQ+ scene and I'm looking for recommendations for the best gay bars.

I'm ideally looking for places that have:

- A fun, vibrant atmosphere

- Friendly, social people (easy to chat and meet others)

- A good mix of ages

- A pool table would be a big bonus!

I recently went to a gay bar on my own for the first time, and although I didn't end up talking to anyone apart from the bartender, I'm trying to build my confidence and would love to find places with a welcoming vibe for solo visitors.

What would you recommend, and are there any nights that are particularly good?

Title: Went to a gay bar by myself for the first time

I went to a gay bar by myself for the first time, and I'm honestly really proud of myself.

I was pretty nervous, but I went in, ordered a drink, and stayed instead of leaving straight away. It might not sound like much, but for me it's a big step because I've been trying to get over my fear of going out alone and meeting other gay people.

The only person I spoke to was the bartender but I'm still counting it as a win.

For those of you who have been in a similar position, what would you recommend as my next steps? How do you go from sitting by yourself to actually meeting people or making friends without feeling awkward?

I'd really appreciate any advice or stories from people who've been through the same thing. Thanks!

Spot-like patches appearing on my skin — some big, some small. Any idea what it could be?

Hi, I’ve recently started noticing spot-like patches appearing on my skin. Some are quite small while others are bigger patches. I’m not really sure what’s causing it.

They seem to have appeared gradually rather than all at once. I haven’t changed much in my routine recently, but I’m starting to get concerned because there are more showing up.

A few questions:

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Could this be something like a rash, fungal issue, allergy, eczema, stress-related, etc.?

Is there anything I should look out for that would mean I need to see a doctor urgently?

I know nobody can diagnose online, but I’d appreciate any advice or similar experiences. Thanks.

I’m 26 and pretty shy, and I’ve never really had much of a social life or been in a relationship. I’ve been wanting to push myself more and actually start putting myself out there, so tonight I decided to go to a gay bar.

I was really hesitant at first and almost didn’t go in, but I did. I only stayed briefly, got a Coke, stood outside to drink it, used the toilet, then left. I didn’t talk to anyone or anything like that.

I still feel proud of myself for even going in. A part of me would’ve just walked past and gone home, so this feels like a small win.

I know it probably sounds like nothing to most people, but for me it felt like a big step.
