Whatnot sellers

I've been watching a lot of Whatnot Quince shows and buying way too much. lol. There are some sellers that get so upset when the auctions don't go high enough. Sometimes I can understand their frustration, but watching one recently where the person is just repeating the cost in this tone of disbelief even when the price is inline with every other whatnot seller of these items. They have to realize they aren't going to get new prices on them. Especially when the buyer is paying almost ten bucks for shipping and don't get to return anything.

Just saw someone complaining about getting $27 on an item that is only 52 new. Once the buyer pays 9.21 shipping and it's in a ragged, torn plastic bag, and sometimes items have minor flaws, they are not much better off than buying new, where they can return if they don't like it or it doesn't fit. Or if it's meant as a gift for someone, you can't give the person a gift receipt, so there is also that to factor in.

Don't get me wrong, I've gotten a lot of great deals on Whatnot, but I've also paid near full price on some.

Lots of Likes, Few sales

When I first uploaded to Poshmark about 6 weeks ago, I had 3-4 sales pretty quickly and I was really excited so I listed more items. Most of my items are NWT or NWOT. Everything is in excellent condition. They are listed at quite a bit of savings from new retail, obviously.

I had a few offers on one of my NWT items but both were low ball and I'd have lost money so I counter offered. Those were ignored or one countered with only a tiny increase.

It's a nice dress that I would honestly rather keep and gift to someone than lose money. It's in season too, so not like a winter dress in summer.

I have sent offers to likers but nothing. Is it the time of year? What? The price isn't outrageous for any of the items.

I have more items to list but wondering if I should even bother.

How to let a seller know why nobody is buying?

So I'm in a show right now and the seller doesn't seem to know the retail prices of the items so she is getting discouraged when people aren't bidding on many of her items. The thing is, she's starting the bidding very close to the price of the actual price on the retail site, and the retail site has free shipping and returns, so of course nobody wants to pay retail price plus shipping with no chance to return.

I want to tell her, politely, but afraid I'll get banned.

Just filed missing package search...now what?

A package with two items arrived at the Wisconsin Oak Creek facility, about 30 min from me, and usually the last stop before my local post office, 3 days ago, early in the morning. Normally it would then go to my post office next day for that day's delivery. It didn't happen. Didn't arrive yesterday either. I look at the tracking and it's still sitting in Oak Creek with nothing happening. Meanwhile, I've had other packages ordered later move through there and be delivered or are arriving today. So where is the one package that is just sitting there? Ugh. I hate Oak Creek. It's been over a week since they were shipped so I filed a lost package thing. Does anything actually happen from that?

Seller ran out of item

Update: I went ahead and canceled since it won't hurt my buyer status. Thanks everyone who responded.

I bought some shoes from a seller who was doing a sale that didn't have bidding. They would put items up and have the price and how many they had. I saw some shoes that were my size so I bought them. I have an excellent rating on Whatnot. The only cancellation I have was at the request of a seller during a show when they made a mistake and asked me to do a quick cancellation that they would approve. I did, which was fine. I didn't think anything of it.

But now I have this other seller telling me days later that they ran out of the item I bought. I said fine, just refund my payment. They want me to submit a cancellation. I want to ask you guys, who know more about it, will this hurt my rating as a buyer?

Buyer ranting about other Buyers

It drives me nuts when people come to the shows and ask the host if they have some particular item. Especially the shows where the seller pre-loads their shop so everything is there to search. Like just go look and quit distracting the host or slowing things down while they are responding. They hosts do say to check the shop but in shows with no pre-loaded shop, the hosts are in a tough position of trying to accomodate while also still trying to keep the show going.

I never ask what they have. I like the surprise of what is coming up next and I'll sit with my phone app running while I'm on my laptop and glance over and listen to the description. I mean, obviously I do this in shows where I am interested in the brand/item they sell. I don't sit in random shows.

I have to hand it to all you sellers who have so much patience because I'm over there just shaking my head and thinking how rude of them to barge in and think it's all about them.

What a fun show today!

I'm just a buyer, not a seller. I was at my one of my two favorite seller's shows today and he was really upbeat, which he usually is anyway, but especially so today. At some point, somebody tipped him$5 or so, then someone else, and before you know, everyone was tipping him. $1, $5, $10. He was so overwhelmed and the more overwhelmed he became, the more people tipped him! lol. He was trying to tell people to stop and eventually did a really good giveaway. He might have done two of them but I had to leave so I'm not sure. I didn't even get into the giveaway, although I did tip, because I already had a couple of the items he was giving away and it's not something I needed more of. I hope whoever got it will put it to good use. (It's an item that retails for about $140)
