I absolutely hate the ending

First of all, I'll start by saying that this is absolutely NOT Gooseworx's fault, and this is no hate to her whatsoever. I get that she was under so much pressure, and there's some of the fandom who probably deserve a half-baked ending for harassing her so much.

So now, onto my thoughts:

I began watching TADC in September, and I've been obsessed with it since. It's been such a huge part of my life...

And this ending is enough to make me wish I had never even watched it in the first place. If this was how bad the conclusion was going to be, I can't believe I ever got into the show in the first place.

First of all, Jax's story. It was SO poorly handled! It was obvious that his abstraction was a long time coming, and that he brought it on himself, but why the hell did it happen offscreen, and barely anyone seemed to care? I know he bullied them, but just last episode we had Zooble telling him he was one of them and that they cared about him! That's all thrown out the window, and only Pomni seems to give half a shit about trying to help him.

Speaking of which, why do we have that scene of her trying to save him if he's not going to be saved in the first place?

And then we HAVE to talk about the absolutely horrible scenes in his mind. The ones where he chokes Pomni, and, like, fantasies about Gangle enjoying getting bullied? What the actual fuck was that? Nether of those scenes make sense to me and thinking about them actually makes me sick. They're both so out of character for Jax!

And then we have the way Ribbit's relationship with him deteriorated. This is something we've all been looking forward to seeing for absolute months, and this is how it happens? Maybe it's just my piss poor subtitles, but basically, he opens up to her, Kaufmo knocks on the door, and he suddenly gets weird for absolutely NO reason, and just starts cutting her off? I can't...

Basically, Jax's whole story's conclusion is shit. He is, without a doubt, the most layered and complex character in the show. And what do they do with this? Chalk him down to a simply verbally abusive character for no reason, never have him apologise or come to terms with his mistakes, and we see the suicidal character we liked and related to just end his life rather than heal. Even people who didn't like Jax will probably be pissed at this conclusion for him.

Then, we've got Caine's story. For me, his character came to a perfect close in episode 8. He was a tragedy, doomed from the start, and his deletion showed exactly what needed to be done for his character. And then...he's back? How? His return was absolutely SO rushed and poor, and badly explained! I hate it! He didn't need to come back! His character came to an amazing close, and bringing him back and giving him a half-assed apology takes all the weight away from episode 8!

Also, the pacing in the episode is so poor. We have about 40 minutes of Jax's abstraction/terrible mindscape, and the rest is just a terrible beginning and a weak conclusion. Everything is either so rushed or so dragged out, and there's no in between.

And then there's the amount of questions that go unanswered! What happened to C&A? How did Caine even come back in the first place? How does abstraction even work, because that's never even explained?

There are two good things in this episode for me:

  1. The Ragatha and Pomni hug!

  2. Abstragedy being canon

The rest of it? I'm gaslighting myself into believing that this was a fake ending just in case it got leaked, because I don't want this to be real...

Just finished season 3, and it was so obvious who won

I just got done watching season 3, and it's been brutally obvious all along that >!Tricia and Cathie!< were the winners. It showed them all along discussing what the money/win would mean to them, and mentioned >!Tricia's eye problems and the medical scares back home!< so often that it was obvious that production wanted it to be easy for the viewer to sympathise with them and like them. Nothing against the winners themselves, the two of them were lovely people, my only issue is that the outcome was so obvious all along. Anyone else feel the same way?

Do Any Of You Have Code Names For Your Crushes?

Me and my friends call my crush "Crutches" because she plays basketball and was on crutches twice in six months lmao. My friend calls her boyfriend "Truck" as a codename and don't even get me started in that one 😭

How much do blood tests usually cost?

Hi all! For a school project, I'm trying to figure out how much it costs to own different types of dogs. This includes how much it costs to pay for vet bills, and one of the dogs I've chosen to look into is a border collie, who are prone to epilepsy. I've found the price for medication, but sources tell me that the dogs need regular blood tests. The problem is, I'm getting drastically different results from a lot of different sites, so I figured I'd be better to ask the experts haha. Thanks in advance!

I'm so done

My (15) crush on my friend is driving me crazy! I think I'm honestly in love with her, but she doesn't like me back. She showed SO many signs that she did. She'd make jokes about kissing me, fake proposed to me, goes out of her way to show that she cares about me, says that she loves me a lot, watches shows because I like them, acts different around me and blushes and stutters and fidgets with her hair a lot around me, moves closer to me even though she hates physical touch, opens up to me about things she doesn't tell anyone else, etc.

My best friend AND her best friend both thought that she liked me, but I confessed to her back in December and she just kind of brushed it off and said she didn't believe me. I didn't want to bring it up again and make her uncomfortable, but I finally mentioned it and all she said was "Oh I thought you stopped liking me lol" so I don't know what to so anymore. She had a crush on a girl who she played basketball with one day, but she'll never see that girl again, but other than her that's the only crush she's ever had and she says she never had a crush before other than her.

I'm trying to move on but literally every time I talk to her I'm still crushing, and it just hurts that I have no chance. What do I even do anymore?

What phrases do you overuse in your writing?

For me:

• [insert character] nodded. Everyone is always nodding! I can never think of an alternative for this, so everyone's nodding every two seconds!

• [insert character] spoke up. I always forget to use added or chimed in, and when I'm rereading my chapters, everyone speaks up about a million times.

• They made their way over to ____. No, they never walk, rush, run, hurry...they always make their way over to whatever the thing is. I always thought it was just boring to say they walked, but at this rate it's probably more boring that they always make their way over to it 😭

Is there anything like this for you guys?

In my fandom, there are these two characters, one of which has a knife collection and one of which has an abusive father. So, the result of me writing a ship fic of these two was searching up a ton of things about knives (types of knives, how expensive they are, their use etc) and child protection laws in Japan. If the FBI sees my search history I think I'm screwed 😭

So, what's the wildest thing you've needed to look up for your fic?
