VIDEO: How-to upgrade your Lumus Pro to a 4.3x to 8.9x Zoom Lens 4K Camera in less than 90 seconds
Everyone wanted a video, so here it is. Reolink's Lumus Pro cameras are great 4K, wide-angle, wifi cameras for the price, IMHO; their image quality is amazing, they're small, semi-affordable, and the wifi works great w/ the 24/7 recording to NRVs, assuming your local wifi network is modern. The only downside is that they're not USB-A/C cabled/powered, but that's fixable for a couple bucks.
Wyze used to make a 3x telephoto model, but before that, people were modding their own cameras with zoom lenses, and come to find out, the Lumus uses the same M12 threaded lenses! So now you can easily DIY your own 4.3-8.9x zoom camera for $8-15ish via the M12 CCTV lenses on Amazon; just search "##mm m12 lens" for your desired zoom length (1/2.7" Sensor: 12mm = 4.3×, 16mm = 5.7×, 25mm = 8.9×).
Compared to the 811WA, with a freshly cleaned lens, the image quality is night and day, plus the overall size difference is huge too. Images taken 0-5 minutes after sunset.
