February 2026-July 2026

Feeling really proud of myself. Went from a hopeless alcoholic to a guy who shows up for himself. Went from a guy who couldn’t look at himself in the mirror to a guy who smiles every time. I lift weights and eat healthy as an act of love for myself and an act of service to those who want me around for a long time. This is a new freedom I have never felt and hope others get to experience. This is just the beginning!

My coworker is getting fired, because I protected myself. AITAH?

I recently started a new job and I am being promoted.

Days before I signed paperwork to be promoted, an incident happened where my coworker stole something from a project that I was overseeing.

I had the remaining items to finish the project on a shelf in our office, and towards the end of the shift one afternoon he said he would put them under his desk for safekeeping. I thought that was really thoughtful of him.

I walked into work the next morning and realized the remaining items of my project were put back on the shelf, but one was missing one of them.

I asked everyone in the room if they had seen the missing item, including this coworker. He came up with reasons as to where it could be, but none of them made sense. First red flag. I gave up and continued about my work.

10 minutes later, he comes in with a similar item, and stated that he found it in a certain room (we have plenty of these items all across the workplace).

I thought it didn’t make sense why he found it there. It didn’t belong there and no one would put it there for any reason. So I took to the security cameras. I oversee a lot of safety and security so I have security camera access. I tracked where he went, and it was not where he said he went. He brought the same type of item from a different room. I go to the room that he came from, and the item that belongs there was missing.

I was f$&king furious. He stole. Then lied. Then stole and lied to cover it up.

I wanted to tell my boss’s boss, but I talked to my boss, and he said we should just have a conversation with him. Which we did. He continued to lie until I told him I have him on camera. Then he relented and told the truth and apologized. He asked that we don’t bring it to my boss’s boss. To which we agree.

This isn’t the first time this individual has lied and stolen from others. This is the first time it happened to me, and I happened to have evidence.

I found out about my promotion from my boss’s boss. And he told me that he knew that I was ready and perfect for the position. It’s a huge responsibility. Twice the pay. Like I’m beyond grateful I can provide for my family in a way I haven’t been able to before. I hadn’t signed the paperwork yet. I was only notified that it was happening.

I don’t want to jeopardize the likelihood of my promotion, caring for my family, to pay off my student debt, actually build a savings and a life… So I told my boss boss’s what happened.

Now my coworker is getting fired, because I said something. I feel like I did the right thing, but I also feel like an @$$#0!3 at the same time.

My coworker just bought a house. He just got married. I feel like I put everything at risk for him. The job market sucks, and I’m not sure what he’s going to do.

But he also put everything at risk for me. I didn’t sign up for a job working with someone who lies and steals. He didn’t care about what could happen to me or my boss if the big boss found out we covered for him and didn’t say anything. I may not have gotten promoted if they found out I covered for him. Or if I did get promoted and they found out later, I could be fired.

I have empathy for an individual who didn’t care about how his theft and lying affects others. I enjoy my coworkers. They’re my friends. But they’re my friends because they’re my coworkers, and the job has to come first, so I can help my family.

But I feel like I ruined this guys life, after I told him I wouldn’t tell anyone and he said it would never happen again. Then I tell my boss’s boss because I was scared.

I don’t know dude… AITAH?

Overweight - Gain Muscle or Lose Fat First?

I'm 34M. 5'11". 202 Ib. 23.2% body fat.
I workout 5-6 days a week. Lifting at least 5 days a week, with moderate level running for half an hour 3 days a week.
I'm right around that point of my fitness level where I've been eating right around my TDEE, burning fat and gaining some muscle. I've been sincerely dedicated to the gym and proper nutrition since February of this year.
I have recently reached somewhat of a plateau.
I want to lower my body fat percentage and I want to sit right around 180-185 Ib. But I also want to gain muscle.
And I know I should choose one or the other first.
Be in a calorie deficit, maintain high protein, still lift high intensity weights, lose fat. Clean bulking after.
OR
Be in a slight calorie surplus, clean bulking, gain muscle, then cut, as my basal metabolic rate will be higher, I can burn more calories at rest, therefore more fat.
I just need someone to tell me what they think will be more beneficial.
I want to build muscle and lose fat. That's the end goal, and once the fat is entirely where I want it to be, build more muscle mass.
Thanks for any advice!

Zen Basil Seeds
1 Tablespoon

Vita Coco Pure Coconut Water
8 Fluid Ounces
45 cal

Passion Fruit, Frozen
1 cup
60 cal

Total 345 cal, 5 g fat, 40.6 g carbs with 13 g fiber, 24 g of natural no added sugar, and 35 grams protein

This has been my daily morning breakfast routine. I try to match 10 grams of protein per 100 calories, get healthy fats and fiber. This has been a blended smoothie I make every morning. I'm attempting some recomposition, losing fat while maintaining/slightly gaining muscle.
Looking for advice or what you all do every morning? I'm in the gym 5-6 days a week, weight lifting with 2-3 cardio sessions a week as well.

Overall thoughts on what you first eat in the morning trying to lose fat?

Disney Internship Question

Hey folks!

So I was thinking about getting an internship at Disney, while I know it’s competitive and may not happen, my question is, through anyone’s experience or knowledge, if you got an internship, what’s the likelihood of getting a career after the internship is over?

I’m a Masters student, I am in school full time and work full time to support my family. If I do get the internship, it may only last four months, or it can be extended to a year, but has anyone had any luck or experience being hired when the internship was over? I’d be scared to give up my full time job with worry about what to do after the internship is over, but I’d almost be more scared not to take something that feels like a once in a lifetime chance.

Puffin

Carefully and masterfully done by not_milk on IG. Check him out. Honestly I teared up from how beautiful this piece is. I don’t think I’ve felt that with any of the tattoos I’ve gotten over the years. He’s a wizard. The attention to detail, the passion behind his craft, the good tunes, the heartfelt conversations. I’m astounded, it wasn’t just getting a tattoo, it was an experience with a friend. Check him out, but honestly look at this freaking bird. So grateful.

I sailed most of my life as a merchant mariner on ships for a living. A puffin spends about 9 months of its life in solitude at sea then returns to land for a few months to be with their soul mate. I finally flew home. Couldn’t be more stoked.
