Trying to perfect my cookie dough recipe, I just started getting into adding fillings to my cookies and I wanted to make a batch for Memorial Day, I love the filling! Going to make more tweaks in the future but I am pretty happy with this first batch
All my grandkids have birthdays in the summer, so they don’t get to celebrate at school, so I bake cookies for them to take for the last week of school. This is just a fun “art project” for me, so be kind! 😀
Shoutout to Sally’s Baking Addiction for her chewy cookies recipe! I followed everything to the T and got PERFECT gooey, soft cookies. Guys this literally never happens to me. Something always goes wrong like the cookies spread too far, I put too much flour, oven was too strong, etc. Finally, all is right in the world. 🥹

I made the NYT Double chocolate cookie recipe. I’d give it a solid 7.5/10 . It’s good but I think I prefer brownies (Ghirardelli) over a double chocolate cookie. I’ll stick to the regular CCC’s . Still glad I tried it though 👌🏻
As the title says, I super messed up my cookies but I have no shame and wanted to post it anyway.
Definitely trying to remake this better by fixing what I know I did wrong
The cookies' taste is beyond better than my other attempts but def the ugliest 🥲
I followed the recipe in the pics, BUT I made alterations and mistakes:
- I reduced the flour by 50 grams to replace with sourdough but didn't remember to reduce the moisture through the butter
-did not fully fluff my butter as I usually do (maybe even had too much sugar idk)
- did not adjust to the altitude by adding more flour 😔 I wasn't thinking. So I double reduced my flour by way too much
- I also used about 60 grams of browned butter (giving it a 2nd chance by mixing it with my normal butter that I made from whipping heavy cream). I loved the browned butter this time!!
They flattened completely 🥲
Anywayy, I rolled them up and made the remaining batter into madeline shape to see if they held up better (they didn't) but they were very yummy :3
Last week was just cookie heavy. Though I will say it is special to be able to care for people you love via food. Butter cookies for my friends. Lactation cookies for my dear friend struggling postpartum. Chocolate chip cookies for my love's work. A platter of sugar cookies, earl grey cookies and more butter cookies for my choir concert reception. No more cookies for a few weeks 😂

Soft, buttery swirls of rich cream cheese, and real vanilla bean goodness layered with sweet raspberry,. The kind of treat that disappears way too fast straight out of the oven 🤍🫶
I tried that recipe again and it failed also I just burn my fingers 🥲

Had a networking opportunity today that went well and gave me more insight into my industry. Celebrating with some cookies that turn out how I like. Chewy in the middle and a little crunchy
Guess what recipe I used? Gemmas bigger bolder baking chocolate crinkle recipe, and made substitutions 😸 Similar to my Confetti Cookies, but I used orange instead of vanilla, toffee instead of sprinkles, and rolled them in brown sugar and toffee instead of sprinkles 🍫🍊🍬🍪 Happy baking and indulging 😽💖✨️
