Battlefield 6's Top Gun collab is fueling my Ace Combat fix right now

Should I leave during the probation period if I feel like I'm not going to fit into the office culture?

I got a new job as a comms exec for an MNC after spending three years working at a much smaller media agency. It's been about a month since I joined, the work is manageable enough, pay's good and I have a two day hybrid schedule.

Everything feels alright, until I started trying to interact with my colleagues. Coming from a smaller company that, while has it flaws, was a rather warm and vibrant place to work in with a lot of small talk and engagement. But when I came here, with one of my roles being to ideate and manage employee engagement, it just feels I've entered a completely "sanitized" work environment.

My floor is just completely quiet, no one ever talked beyond just their current work tasks, even when we go out for lunch, casual conversations are so limited and it somehow comes right back to just talking about work. I have visited other departments and they're all much more vibrant that it feels rather surprising that the same building can have such different office cultures.

I consider myself a little introverted, but I've been trying to get out of my shell a bit more trying to at least make small talk with my colleagues and at least try to build a connection with them, but everyone just gives such short answers to topics like hobbies or plans for the weekend it just feels like no one really wants to talk beyond just work. My manager insists that everyone is friendly and will help me if I need it, but I kinda want to also know my colleagues at least a little bit on a personal level if I want to feel comfortable interacting with them? The department culture feels very "stock corporate video" levels of employee friendliness that it makes me a bit unnerved.

I'm only a month into my three month probation, and I'm starting to doubt if this is the type of office environment I would see myself working in the long term. I'm willing to give it another month before I start deciding if I should hand in my two weeks notice. I am thankfully not in a desperate financial situation, so I'm willing to at least leave without a job offer immediately on hand.

Asked PlayAsia if the Asia AC8 collectors edition has the artbook in English. Guess it's only in Japanese

Just had an Outpost Duos match and we were the only ones in the game

Was playing in SEA in like the evening, we went like half the match not seeing anyone or even hearing any gunshots, literally circled the entire map and only saw one Rook that we ended up killing cause the presence of someone else legit caught us by surprise.

I get that it's a weekday, it was just kinda surprising to see it firsthand, and honestly bums me out a little.

Already had my fill with cryo last season and got one compiler kill, I'm content with just staying on Outpost solo now.

Imagine getting salty over Casual Breakthrough of all things

Had some guy in a match call me a moron simply because I was blocking his respawn beacon, he kept switching squads because he considered everyone "a liability". When I wasn't in his squad anymore he got all smug at me that I couldn't block his spawn anymore and I was just there the whole time thinking damn dude it literally ain't all that serious.

Just found the whole thing very amusing but also kinda sad.

Does FAN actually like Ace Combat or not

Also such a bizzare take to be having when Probect Wingman uses models of real planes but the names are switched cause they can't pay for its license. So paying for defense contractor licenses are bad but using their plane designs is still okay?

When Cryo launched, I thought Compiler would be impossible for me. 190 hours later, I finally conquered it.

Between getting Profiteer, getting all the achievements, and defeating the Compiler, Marathon has become one of my favorite games in recent memory. Even if the game doesn't last long, the fun memories I have made in season 1 alone will stay with me for a very long time.

Here's to season 2 and beyond!
