how do you approach people at the gym?

lol hey guys

there’s a couple girls I consistently see at the gym that I’ve been dying to chat with more. I haven’t gotten past the smile and say hi phase but I’d really like to make/meet more girls who are into fitness.

Ladies, How would or do you approach other women at he gym when trying to befriend them?

LIC VIBE FITNESS — Membership options?

Thinking about switching to VIBE in LIC when my current gym membership ends, and my boyfriend would likely join with me.

For anyone who’s joined recently, what are you paying? Did you sign up at the standard rate, or were you able to get a lower monthly/annual price or have the initiation fee waived?

We’re trying to figure out whether their pricing is pretty set or if they tend to run promotions throughout the year that would be worth waiting for.

Would love to hear what others are paying/what your experience was signing up!

LIC pizza?

moved from east village and loved village square pizza but all the places I’ve tried on Vernon are kinda awful! What is everyone’s favorite pizza spot in LIC?

(love square slices that are on the saucy side but my bf loves saucy traditional slices)

Realized I have no room for growth at my job — feeling stuck 5 months in

I was hired as a Marketing and Wholesale Assistant, but in practice I’m basically just a sample coordinator, showroom organizer, and office manager. I’ve been asking for a while to get more involved — sitting in on more meetings, offering to help anyone with anything — and I keep getting ignored.
The only person who’s actually responsive to me is someone I’m not even working under.

I’ve only been here 5.5 months, but I’m starting to feel hopeless, like I’m going to be stuck here because this job isn’t teaching me anything relevant to what I was hired for. This is technically my first or second post-grad corporate job, but it’s the first one with a title that actually matches my degree and what I want to be doing.

Has anyone been in a similar spot? How long did you give it before deciding to leave, and what helped you push past the “they’re ignoring me” wall?

Secrets Punta Cana in early July

Hey! Super excited, just locked in a trip to Secrets Punta Cana for early July. It’s the only time I can go so I’m not
rescheduling — just want to manage expectations!

I know July is peak sargassum season for the Caribbean and that 2026 is shaping up to be a rough year for it. What I’m really curious about is how Secrets specifically handles it. I’ve read that some top resorts like Secrets Cap Cana deploy cleaning crews at dawn before guests wake up and use tractors and rakes to clear the beach daily — but is that actually the reality or is it wishful thinking?

For anyone who’s stayed at Secrets Punta Cana in summer: How bad was it day-to-day? Did the resort stay on top of cleanup? Was the water itself still enjoyable even when the beach had seaweed on it?

Also curious about the weather — hot and rainy I assume, but how disruptive were the afternoon showers really?
Not looking to be talked out of it, just want honest intel so I go in with realistic expectations. Thanks in advance
