A Gentleman Through and Through — Lord John Grey

As the show went on, I started liking Lord John more and more. He’s so quiet, composed and dignified and kind. With his reputation and power, he could’ve easily chosen a comfortable life, but we all know how complicated and miserable his life actually is. And David Berry did such a beautiful job portraying him. The subtle expressions, the restraint, the quiet pain in his eyes every time he saw that certain someone *blinks blinks* he makes John feel so real without ever overdoing it. He genuinely NAILED the character.

Also, can we talk about how WELL he pulls off the Redcoat look?? He was made for that coat,it suits him the BEST. I mean every time he's on the screen you just can't take your eyes off of it.

young ian is one of the most beautiful characters in this show

Young Ian is such a pure, selfless soul. Always putting the people he loves before himself, whether it’s going to the Mohawk, helping Jamie and Claire, or being there for the people he cares about. He’s so brave yet still has tht adorable innocence like thinking his aunt was a fairy (aww) And his sweet proposal to Brianna (iconic). I love himm. But at the same time I hate how everyone is happy with their partners and then there's ian's tragic love life.

One of the Best Performances in Outlander

The range THIS man has is unreal. I despised Black Jack Randall, yet I never once saw him in Frank. Tobias Menzies genuinely convinced me they were played by two different actors.

I Met a Stranger Today Who Looked Genuinely Happy With What He Had

Pata hai aaj kya hua

So on the way back home from the market, I took an auto rickshaw, and the driver turned out to be one of the mostttt extroverted and talkative happiest people I’ve met in a long time.

He kept casually talking about his life the whole time. About how hot it is these days, so sometimes he and his friends just walk into random malls AC mai hawa lene k liye . About how his mornings start at 5 a.m. with a big glass of lassi.

But the cutest part was the way he talked about his wife.

“Hum subha ghar se 9 baje nikal jate hai aur humari madam bhains ka kaam sambhalti hai… kabhi kin kin nahi karti vo. Badhiya khana banati hai humare liye aur fir raat mai daant ti hai ki itna late kaise ho gaye. Madam hai, jo bhi keh de sun lete hai hum toh… humse zyada mehnat karti hai vo toh gussa hone dete hai. Hum mana lete hai aur maan jayengi. Ladhayi se na vo khush rahengi na hum.”

Fir bolte hai “Jab hum kaam pe nahi jate toh hum lassi banate hai madam ke liye subha subha… unke sath hum bhi kaam karwa lete hai.”

The entire time, he had the brightest smile on his face and this sparkle in his eyes whenever he mentioned his family.

Then he started talking about his three kids waiting for their papa to come home, while he joked that half the time he’s out having fun with his friends in malls instead of working.

And then he said, “Hum mehnat karte hai toh khate bhi hai… ghee, doodh, dahi mai kami nahi karte. Mehnat se dar nahi lagta. Bas bacche aur madam khush hai toh hum khush ho jate hai unhe khush dekh kar”

Wow

That man was so deeply in love with his family, so satisfied with his life, and so full of peace. Maybe that really is the whole point of life after all to have people to love, food on the table, and a home you’re happy returning to.

He may not have had luxury in the way most people define it, but somehow he still felt richer than most of us.
