Hey all,

I’m working fully remote on a Windows office laptop that’s managed using Microsoft Intune. We don’t use any VPN.

I’ve noticed a few people in my team using browser-based AI tools like Claude/ChatGPT on the work machine itself, but I’ve been a bit more cautious.

For the past couple of months, I’ve been:

  • Using my personal laptop for Claude Code and working with repos
  • Using my office laptop only for meetings/calls and official stuff

Now I’m trying to understand the actual boundaries here.

Questions:

  1. With Intune-managed devices, what kind of tracking is typically possible?
    • Browser history?
    • Installed apps?
    • Clipboard / keystrokes?
    • Network traffic even without VPN?
  2. If I’m doing all Claude-related work on my personal laptop (same home WiFi), is there any realistic way that activity is visible to the company?
  3. Is using tools like Claude in the browser on a managed device generally detectable/logged?

Not trying to bypass anything — just want to understand what’s actually visible vs what’s not, and where the safe line is.

Would appreciate insights especially from IT/admin folks.

Thanks!

I’m already paying a decent amount of tax every month under the new regime.

Now if I try to work extra on weekends to earn more, a big chunk of that just goes away in taxes.

So basically I put in extra effort on my days off, and a significant part of that effort doesn’t even reach me?

What’s more frustrating is when people say “just optimize your taxes” — like how?? As a salaried employee in the new regime there are barely any deductions left.

It feels like the more straightforward and transparent your income is, the more you end up paying. Meanwhile others seem to structure things in ways that reduce their taxable income.

I’m not trying to evade anything, it just feels demotivating that extra effort doesn’t translate into proportional reward.

Anyone else feel this way? How are you dealing with it?

Hi all! I got into UT Austin's fully online MSAI program (Fall 2026). Total cost is just $10,000 (~₹8.3 lakhs) for the full degree — $1,000 per course.

Since it's an online program, I'm not sure if banks/NBFCs will fund it. My questions:

  • Did any Indian bank (SBI, Bank of Baroda, Canara) give you a loan for an online US MS degree?
  • What about NBFCs like HDFC Credila, Avanse, Auxilo, or InCred?
  • Is Prodigy Finance or MPOWER an option for online programs?
  • Since the total is only ~₹8–9 lakhs, is a personal loan better than an education loan?
  • How are you all managing to pay $1,000 per course — self-funding, EMI, or loan?

Would love to know how others are managing finances for affordable online US degrees. Thanks!

Hey everyone! I just got admitted to UT Austin's MSAI (Option III) program for Fall 2026 and I'm from Vellore — did my B.E. from an Anna University affiliated college.

My admission letter says I need to submit:

  1. Final official transcript from Anna University
  2. Official award of Bachelor's Degree from Anna University

I have a few questions for anyone who's been through this:

  • Did you apply through the AU COE portal yourself or use a service like electronictranscripts.com / MailTranscripts?
  • How long did it take from application to UT Austin receiving it?
  • Did Anna University send it directly to UT Austin, or did you have to courier it yourself?
  • Any name mismatch issues with passport vs degree? How did you fix it?
  • Did you need any additional attestation/apostille?

Classes start August 24, 2026 so I want to get this done ASAP. Any tips from people who've done this recently would be super helpful. Thanks!
