Cap disconnected mid flight

Recently i was flying my 8inch and it completely cut power dead and dropped. After recover i couldnt tell what was wrong but after unsoldering everything and looking st it many times i realised the capaciters (came with the esc) negative leg was loose and wiggling slightly. I touch it and it made a huge spark, im assuming the sudden loss of ground caused it surge the stack and fry both? And how can i prevent something like this? Very sad :(

Drone fell out of sky randomly.

New 8inch. 2nd pack into the probably 5th session.

Speedybee f405 v4 with 55amp esc, bluejay flashed. 1150kv motors 4in pitch props. Never drew more then 30 amps on maneuvers, peaked at 85 or so maybe closer to 90 at full throttle in burst.

No visibile issues, power just cut flying back, leds dont flash when plugged in but esc beeps its startup tune.

One motor is tough to spin freely, dont know if it was before or after the crash though cause they all spun fine before.

Logs in comment :(

why so many antennas? hdzero/dji

ive always loved the antenna aesthetic especially if they are useful but it got me wondering.

the standard is 2 with 2 receivers for a true diversity right? then there are the cheaper single ones.

but dji and hdzero gog2 have 4 sma connectors for 4 antennas! do they have 4 receivers or just 2 receivers and

both have antenna diversity?

could i get the same effect with 2 patch and 2 omni on something like fatsharks hdo+ or skyzone's o4# binocs?

or are the 4 antenna premiums built specifically for that?

Fatshark hdo+ / hdz gog2's / skyzone 04xpro?

Ive saved up a chunk of change and cant find any significantly better box goggles that arent hdz boxpro which i dont enjoy much so ive decided to leap for binocs.

Of the 3 main analog binocular goggles, which should i get? Pure analog with more longrange focus. Do they all have pretty similar screens?

antenna adapters

just got a tripple feed patch and my previous patch antenna had a 50 degree adapter and my 3feed patch came with a straight but bendable stiff cable. i was wondering if the adapter had any more significant dbi loss then the cable bent at the same angle. if no should i just run the cable and no adapters?

Old old gen 1 vive as normal monitor?

I have a very old crusty vive and was wondering if i could set it up as a generic monitor or if i would be better off just taking the lcds out and buying a driver board for them. Is this a difficult project to de-steamvr'ify them or should i just save it as a relic and buy a pair of dual lcds from aliexpress or something?

Been looking for new gogs for a while (currently on battered ev800d's) and want to get into open ipc, but will always have analog because it is what i prefer. My main issue is every goggle that isnt crazy expensive oled binocs (hdo+ skyzones o40 and hdzeros).

Anyone have reccomendations? I was looking at box pros but they only have the one analog antenna

Title.

I wanted to buy some more batteries for my longrange drone sense i only have 2 2200mAh batteries and was wondering if running two 5inch batteries would be viable, if it would deliver more power or just have the same power of 6s but the length of 2600mAh? So i could use the same batteries for both frames and have a uniform selection.

I want to make a custom pcb that will connect to a display board and a wifi module that will be used for drone goggles. Is this too ambitious for a first project? Does anyone have any resources for learning about surface and deeper level pcb design? Software reccomendations? Im kinda lost rn

So im looking through various goggles and im leaning toward hdzero boxpro's but want to make sure they are really the best option for my case. Or if i should say screw it and build my own goggles.

I primarily do light freestyle and longrange, ive seen alot of good from hdzeros analog rx system but ive seen only one antenna supports analog. Is there any better options for analog longrange? Im weary on skyzone with their recent latency issues and their subsequent price hike after fixing them.

Anyone got other suggestions?
