What are they looking for?

Hey yall
I been wanting to have an automobile design project in my portfolio for a while now. But what are they looking for? I had an idea to design a shooting brake that takes the family to the mall on a friday night and dominate on track Saturday morning(ofc,im over exaggerating)
But isnt that a common idea? It wont give a lasting impression to the judges. Do i make futuristic concept cars? Are they looking for a realistic idea or do they want me to find a very niche problem and try to solve it? What makes a good project?
(Pardon me if im too stupid to see whats what)

Looking for vintage Indian electronic albums

I am absolutely obsessed with Charanjit Singh’s Synthesizing: Ten Ragas to a Disco Beat (1982). The way he used the Roland TB-303 and TR-808 to map out strict Indian classical ragas onto quantized machine sequences is incredible.

I’m looking for more vintage electronic albums/tracks from back in the day (late 60s, 70s, 80s) that lean into that exact same energy.

Black screen of death?

Hey everyone, need some help troubleshooting my R36S clone.

I’m running dArkOSRE on a brand new SD card (about a month old). Today, I accidentally pulled the card out of my Windows PC without safely ejecting it a couple of times. The last time, Windows gave me a "device is in use" warning, but I yanked it anyway.

Current Symptoms:

  • When I turn the handheld on, it successfully displays the custom dArkOSRE synthwave boot splash screen.
  • However, it gets stuck right there or goes black immediately after—it never loads into the actual game menu (EmulationStation).

Since it’s showing the splash screen, the hardware is clearly getting power and reading the initial boot partition. It looks like pulling the card mid-process just corrupted the main operating system files or the frontend loader.

Is there a way to repair the corrupted frontend files through Windows or a terminal command so I don't lose my configurations, or is a complete re-flash of dArkOSRE my only option here?

Thanks!

18 year old canon point and shoot?

shot on Canon PowerShot SD790 IS from 2008 (10MP CCD sensor).

My questions are:

  1. Can I actually use this old Canon pocket camera instead of my iPhone 13 for a professional portfolio, or will a design jury look down on a 2008 camera?
  2. If the raw photos look a bit muddy or dark on gloomy days, can I edit them later in Lightroom/Snapseed to bring out the details and make them look high-end? Or are the details just non-existent because of the old tech?

I’ve tried editing a few skyline shots from the Canon by leveling the horizon and lifting the shadows, and it surprised me how much detail woke up. Should I stick to the iPhone, or can I make this fun little Canon work?

Thanks!

Trynna get started

Hey yall, before ppl start grilling me,Im no photographer,i’ve got no experience and took no classes.I just know the basic terms of photography and some things about composition(im a designer) but ive been wanting to get into photography also cuz i wanna put some photos in my college admission portfolio.

So I found this very cool looking hotwheels vending machine yesterday night near my building so I took a couple of pictures(iphone 17).I used 2x for some reason and reduced the exposure a bit.but a lot of the shots got the led wrong.maybe because the shutter speed was too low? And so these are the two best ones i got rn.are they good enough to go ahead and experiment in lightroom?or is it just a nice camera and nice led sign.cuz i dont wanna put those instagram story kinda pics on a design portfolio.also,is the subject intresting enough to go back and try again?
Thanks for hearing me out😁
Help a kid out please😭🤞🏻

Looking for retro RPGs for my r36s

I’m looking for retro games (SNES, GBA,etc) with a specific loop: Dungeons, Bosses, and Resource Grinding.

The Vibe:

  • Art: High-tier, colorful pixel art like Seiken Densetsu 3 Not a fan of bad 3d art
  • Gameplay: I want to kill monsters for materials/loot to craft or upgrade gear.
  • Setting: Proper high-fantasy "Isekai" or magical world vibes.

I liked the overall mechanics and structure of Monster Hunter but the Art style was too realistic

Need Help flashing dArkOS4clone on my r36s (plz help😭)

Need help identifying weird R36S clone / K36 clone LCD panel issue.

I have an R36S clone with stock DTB file: rf3536k4ka.dtb (which gemini says is normal for k36)

Stock SD card does NOT have boot.ini.

the dtb identifying website identifies my clone as a type 5

I flashed dArkOS clone build 2026-04-30 to a genuine SanDisk SD card using this tutorial

https://youtu.be/WQ3tfmzPN0s?si=GtKRm9sHXdg5VXsd.

What I tested:

  • Clone Type 5 → ArkOS logo appears, blue power LED stays on, then backlit black screen forever.
  • Clone Type 4 → backlit black screen
  • Clone Type 3 Panel 1 →backlit black screen
  • Clone Type 3 Panel 2 → backlit black screen
  • K36 profile → backlit black screen.
  • K36S profile → backlit black screen.

So the closest match seems to be Type 5, but nothing fully boots.

Has anyone with stock file rf3536k4ka.dtb found the correct DTB / LCD panel / boot files for this clone?

If you have this same board, can you share your working profile or files?

thanks for hearing me out.

I've been going nuts trynna get this thing to work for hours😭😭😭 i feel so stupid
