My ex and I finally split a few months ago and my room is finally done. I stopped partying a few weeks ago because I love it at home now. First run through in the new apartment!
Hey guys!
I've been running a trans donation night once a month for a bit now where I give away hygiene/grooming/beauty/accessories/etc to trans individuals. Last month I realized that I had way more products for trans femmes than trans masc people so after talking with a lot of guys, I went out and got a ton of razors, colognes, deodorants, ties, hats, and some other items for the guys. One things I kept hearing though is that binders would be a god send as they're pretty expensive.
After hearing this, a trans woman friend of mine and I are learning how to make binders so we can give them to trans masc people. One thing we're running into though is that we have no idea how to get the sizing right. We've got patterns and the materials down but we cannot for the life of us think of how to actually make these comfortable without asking for someone's chest size.
My question is how can we go about making these for people without knowing their measurements? Looking at the patterns they seem like the fit is a Goldilocks zone for every individual and I don't want to make something that will end up causing problems or pain for someone. I want trans masc people to feel as welcome and cared for at these events and I would hate for anyone to feel uncomfortable with others knowing information about parts they're not comfortable with.
Thanks for the advice and help!
There's an artist I really want to see tonight. The site says it's free and starts at 8. I often see people lined up beforehand and I'm not sure if it's for the free shows or not. If you have experience with the Ark, please let me know.
Thanks!
