FSF for childcare paid as due to start a new job and just been told the job offer has been rescinded… do I have to pay it back?

I was offered a job through an agency about 2 weeks ago that they wanted me to start ASAP so I quickly arranged full time childcare and my work coach arranged for an FSF payment to cover the childcare with the understanding that I was due to start work (I provided an email from the agency stating a start date).

I’ve just had a call basically saying that the company is now freezing hiring for the position and essentially the offer has been rescinded.

Will I get in trouble for this? Will I have to pay back the money that was paid to the childcare provider?

I understand that I can only claim back the 85% of childcare costs if I’m working and I have no money to pay for it myself, so will I essentially now need to pull my child out of the nursery after the first (pre paid) month is up unless I find a job that starts within the next month?

My main concern here though is getting in trouble with UC over this, because I’m already barely holding on with my finances as it is (UC covers about half of my monthly costs and I top up the rest from savings and I’ve got about 2 months left).

LF both gold but especially Blinky (set closer)

Don’t have a lot of 4 dupes, or any above, but have stampy and steamed hams and then a bunch of 3s available? Could do a combo of those?

If anyone is willing to trade please name your price, I particularly could do with getting Blinky!

Fuse vs Octopus ... seems like a no brainer, am I missing anything?

I’ve never done a fix before but money is tight, and no improvement in foreseeable so I’m considering fixing just to mitigate the risk of any more increases.

Been with octopus a few years and no real issues but have seen on Uswitch that Fuse seem to be coming out quite a bit lower in terms of unit and standing charges. One thing that puts me off is the variable direct debit because that could be a disaster for me in the winter - is there any way around this?

Advice? Experiences?

What are people’s thoughts on this travel car seat?

Logic is telling me that it’s not safe, but I’m by no means an expert. Curious on what others think?

Have a holiday coming up and LO will be 15 months and looking at travel car seats and this popped up. My immediate thought was that it’s so compact that it would be easy to travel with but I also don’t think it looks secure or sturdy enough.

Edit to add: just so nobody is concerned I didn’t actually consider buying it, multiple things were immediate huge red flags, I was more shocked than anything that it was even being sold

Travel Makers (Wowcher) stating they can't provide flights at paid price, where do we stand?

Basically, 2 × Wowcher vouchers for a 3 night trip at £149 pp from Manchester to Rome were bought and then immediately gifted for a family member. All details put in.

Family member redeemed following steps and then waited for Travel Makers to reach out per instructions.

Travel makers called and basically said they didn't have anyone's info except mine (original purchaser) and because of that they had to check if they could even secure the seats on the flight as they had originally used my info to book them. Which is fine, but then why offer a gift option if this is going to be an issue?

They did the usual attempted upsell and when declined they have come back and said they can't get seats on the flight now as we didn't reply to an email (that they never sent).

They are now insisting that the additional 99pp be paid to secure flights, or they look at different trips.

Can they do this? If they really can't provide the original quoted flights at the price paid, are we going to be able to get a refund?
It all just seems like a huge scam but I don't know where we actually stand on what to realistically expect and what is reasonable to push back on or whether we just need accept the loss.

Any advice or personal experiences of dealing with this/a similar situation with this company is appreciated!
