Why does it seem that there’s so many conservative role models to young men, but not many liberal ones?

All around you see a bunch of influencers, athletes, etc that young men find cool in America, but how come you hardly hear of any on the opposite side of the spectrum?

Do I have to let my insurance know if I’m replacing a newer roof out of pocket because of poor install?

Had a wide range of quotes and repairs were very expensive so economically it made sense to properly fix what the previous owners had paid for.

Given all that do I have to do anything with my insurance before the work starts?

How do you even get opportunities to level up in drop ins?

Literally spent a few rush games with trolls just dribbling the ball into the defense and losing it.

In the 11v11 it’s better but I wait for the right time to get the ball and defend so I don’t end up getting an insane amount of touches unlike some of my other teammates

Is it really best to find a club or friends to play with otherwise it’s a lost cause doing solo dropins?

Does it make sense to use contractor 0% interest loan when I can cover the expenses?

I have a home repair that I need done and got some quotes and went with a reputable company in my area.

They were slightly more pricey than other options but had better material and warranty.

They offered an interest-free period where I wouldn’t have to make payments until later if I wanted to.

My plan would be to make equal payments every paycheck and then pay off the repairs 2-3 months before the terms start accruing interest.

In my HYSA I do have the funds to cover it all up front, but I figured I’d continue getting interest on that rather than withdrawing it.

Does this make sense or am I overlooking anything? I asked about any early payment fees and there are none

Does swapping a faucet really require so many extra things?

I have a wide spread faucet that will not stop dripping because the handle for hot water will not have it close all the way for some reason

I shut off the supply and bought a new faucet

Every YouTube video I’m see now involves using a saw on the old pipe (they have PVC, but I have metal pipes) and a special tool for tightening the handles and using PVC cement

Is it valid for me to just replace everything going into the P-trap or do I really have to go through these extra steps which probably means hiring a plumber?

Is it possible to get a second home energy audit if the first one was done poorly?

I think to get a second home energy audit it says you need to wait six years to do another.

The problem is the people who did my first energy audit only gave estimates for areas of my attic with access points, however I recently opened up the area they didn’t even consider or give quotes for and found it was all uninsulated.

Is there any way I could get a rebate for getting this done?

Cap1 Travel should let you filter on TripAdvisor reviews

Would help filtering for places. Sometimes you have 4 or 5 star hotels but they are poorly reviewed on TripAdvisor so it saves on the hassle of vetting through some of these places.

Obviously if it’s rarely reviewed and one bad review skews things that’s a downside, but I feel also having a minimum number of reviews filter could be helpful too

How are so many people getting Maine license plates?

Are they just getting PO Boxes or something like that and then just registering it that way? I’m having a hard time believing so many people from Maine have moved here and haven’t updated their registration

Unsure if my hot water baseboards are working properly due to not feeling warmth

It’s getting warmer, but sometimes in the morning or late at night it gets below the set temperature on my thermostats.

With that I hear my baseboards dinging around the home, but when I put my hand above the baseboard through the covers I feel no heat radiating from them.

From reading other posts people have said that it could be air in the system, but I’m not sure because the home at least gets to the set temperature

Is it natural to hear the dinging and when it’s getting warmer outside to not actually feel any warmth coming from the baseboards?

Next best place to stay for a weekend trip to Portland, ME when Portland hotels and AirBnBs are too expensive

Two of us are looking for a quick weekend trip to Portland this spring/summer from Thursday-Sunday. We have a budget for lodging around $600-$700 and obviously avoiding sketchy hotels.

There’s pretty much no options within Portland because I know it’s expensive there. Given that information, what would recommendations be for towns to stay in and drive into Portland?

There’s all these articles of younger people moving out of rural towns for job opportunities or university and how there isn’t many people moving in. Is it likely a lot of the towns just dissolve?

In pickup my club teammates and I will team up because of the chemistry and development together, however sometimes we get other players on our pickup squad and one player who is really good in particular will play with us often

The problem is this really good player refuses to pass me the ball at any point because of one week where I had an off day and missed two shots off his passes

Now every time we attack he’s usually the focal point and I’m pretty much just doing cardio because he’s not going to pass the ball to me and I’m just working on my defense, but I feel like it’s hurting my development on offense with passing and shooting

Not sure if anybody’s been in a similar spot

I have to replace my flat roof which is about 600 sqft and I’ve gotten a few quotes so far:

- $15,000 for EPDM with 20 year warranty
- $9,000 for polyglass roof (will need to follow up on warranty)
- $10,000 for Modified bitumen with warranty

Are there any pros and cons with the options or some that appear way more than they should be? Worst case I can try to get more quotes

Somebody told me they redid that area where you get on and off the highway not too long ago. How did they think that’s an efficient design for traffic? It’s pretty much box-blocking and I can’t imagine it gets better as more people move there

From interactions speaking or listening to native Poles speak in real life and in videos I am a fan of the “banter” or maybe it’s slight sarcasm that occurs in conversations, not sure what to call it, but I like it!

I’ve been getting some quotes on an improperly installed flat roof in the northeast that is relatively new and been looking at repairing it first before replacing it and here’s what I’ve gotten back:

Repair:

- $1600 with monthly fee and yearly inspection/repair going forward

- $6000 to repair part of the roof

Replace:

- $13000 EPDM

- $8000 polyglass

The seals on the previous roof were done poorly and the pitching was done poorly as well and I feel a little overwhelmed on how to handle it. I’m continuing to gather more quotes
